How to Solve the Chamber Of Insight in Baldur’s Gate 3

The Chamber of Insight is found underneath the Wyrm’s Rock Prison in Baldur’s Gate 3. It is a puzzle you must solve on your way to Ansur the Dragon. To find Ansur, you are required to solve four chamber puzzles, and the Chamber of Insight is often considered by many to be the hardest. 

In this guide, we shall go over what the Chamber of Insight is, where it can be found, as well as the solution to its complex puzzle. 

What is the Chamber of Insight?

The Chamber of Insight is one of the four chambers guarding the pathway to Ansur the Dragon. Much like the other chambers in the Wyrmway, the name of the chamber reveals its purpose. The Chamber of Insight exists to gauge your Insight before letting you go to the legendary dragon that rests ahead. 

Where is the Chamber of Insight Puzzle?

The Chamber of Insight, alongside the other trial chambers, is underneath Wyrm’s Rock Prison in the Lower City of Baldur’s Gate. You can only access this location in Act 3 of the game when the story necessitates so. The Chamber of Insight is the second trial on the left near the bridge of light. It sits on the top left corner of your map.

How to Solve the Chamber of Insight Puzzle

Balduran explains the backdrop of the trial: There are three people who hold opinions on what to do in the in the aftermath of war. To complete the puzzle, discard the opinion that is the most violent. 

Once you enter the Chamber of Insight, you have to read three books. Ahead of you, you will see two flights of stairs. Go up the one on the left, and you will find books floating around. If you try to hit them, they will explode. Instead, enter Turn-Based mode and throw the book down. The book on the floor will become readable. Do this with all the floating books. 

Each book corresponds to the opinion of its writer. The first book is The Virtues of Unions by Alwin Stedd, the second is The Ethics of War by Cristina Suelto, and the last Amap’s Memoirs. 

Stedd argues that smaller kingdoms should form coalitions with larger kingdoms to ward off threats. Suelto suggests razing the kingdoms you defeat to the ground to prevent any uprising in the future. Amap mourns the direction his friend Suelto ended up going in and argues for a fight against discrimination. 

Reading the books paints Suelto’s opinions as the most violent. Hence, you must destroy that book to solve the puzzle and proceed ahead.
