Taash’s companion quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard brings you into direct confrontation with the Dragon King.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard offers a selection of seven companions, each with their own unique backstory, history, moral code, and personality. As you progress through the game, these companions open up to you and bring along their own personal quests. These quests offer a deep dive into the companion’s psyche and history and help flesh them out further. Taash is a dragon hunter Qunari who joins your party to accompany you on your journey. Taash’s companion quests in Dragon Age: The Veilguard explore their personality, their internal conflict over their identity, and the threat of the Dragon King.
In this guide, we shall go over Taash’s companion quests in Dragon Age: The Veilguard and how to complete them.
Taash’s Companion Quests
Taash has a bunch of companion quests, all of which serve to expand upon their brazen adventure-driven personality and explore her origins. Her quests are as follows:
- Fire On The Sands
- A Little Dragon Hatches
- Secrets Of The Qunari
- Slaying The Fangscorcher
- Kataranda the Storm Rider
- Lair Of The Dragon King
- Words Of Fire Outing-type quest
Taash’s companion quests are unlocked after the ‘The Dragon Slayer’ quest in the game. Head to the Lighthouse and talk to Taash to begin the quest.
Fire On The Sands
Talk to Taash in the Lighthouse to begin this quest. Taash will mention that they have an errand to run in Rivain for their mother and will ask you to join them. Accept their request and join them in Rivain. In this quest, you are to feed birds with Taash without scaring them off. The quest is laid-back, with Taash opening up to you about their fire breathing abilities.
A Little Dragon Hatches
In this quest, the Grey Wardens have learned of a cave in the Hossberg Wetlands that the blighted dragon uses as its lair. Taash wishes to investigate. Upon investigation, Taash learns that the dragon was blighted by the Antaam and is enraged. Taash opens up about their identity issues and eventually embraces their non-binary identity.
Secrets of the Qunari
In this quest, Taash invites you over for dinner with their mother. The quest plays more like a standard conversation and explores the relationship between Taash and their mother and the latter’s reluctance to accept Taash for who they are.
Slaying The Fangscorcher
The ‘Slaying the Fangscorcher’ quest takes you on a dragon hunt after the rampaging Fangscorcher. The quest takes you through the Deep Woods straight into the dragon’s lair. Along the way, you meet the Antaam and have to defeat them. The quest ends after a showdown with the dragon.
Kataranda the Storm Rider
This quest takes you along the Dragon Beach in search of Kataranda’s treasure and leads to a confrontation with the dragon. Defeat the Stormrider to complete the quest.
Lair of the Dragon King
The ‘Lair of the Dragon King’ quest sees Taash take matters into their own hands and confront the Dragon King. The quest begins at Shathann’s home, where Taash discovers a pool of their mother’s blood. Taash then follows Shathann’s trail, fighting Antaam along the way, and ends up at the Dragon King’s lair. The search for Shathann leads to a confrontation with Kaltenzahn and the Dragon King. Defeat the dragon and kill the Dragon King to end the quest.
Words of Fire
The ‘Words of Fire’ quest is an outing-type quest that is a prologue to Taash’s story. Taash comes to terms with their mother’s death and seeks a translation of the Qunari tablet from Rowan.
