Lighthouse

A Comprehensive Guide About Lighthouse in Dragon Age The Veilguard

After your initial confrontation with Solas, the Lighthouse will serve as your base of operations for the remainder of the game. The Lighthouse is located in the fade, and you’ll want to be careful walking around outside as there is a risk of stepping off the edge and falling into infinity. Moreover, this base was formerly the personal sanctum of Solas, the Dread Wolf. There are locked doors in the Library with several secrets to uncover and treasure to find.

At the Lighthouse, you and each of your companions will have their own separate living quarters. You can use the Mirror of Transformation in the infirmary to change your Rook’s appearance, or the Wardrobe in Rook’s room to change the look of your gear. Additionally, the Caretaker’s Workshop will be available in the front courtyard, where you can upgrade and enchant your gear.

Crossroads

Dragon Age The Veilguard Crossroads Location

In Dragon Age: The Veilguard the Crossroads will serve as your gateway to all of the other locations in Thedas via the eluvian mirrors and Solas’ lyrium dagger. Moreover, the Crossroads itself is an expansive area, with places to explore, secret areas to unlock and treasures to find. The Regrets of the Dead Wolf quest is mostly specific to the Crossroards, and in order to find all of the wolf statues you will need to explore and unlock multiple new areas.

Additionally, as you progress the story, spirits will begin to gather in a central area that becomes another marketplace. New shops and items will be added into inventories the farther you get in the game. Furthermore, the items for sale will require coin or Etheric Remnants as payment. Etheric Remnants are a crafting and currency material you can find in the Crossroads and other areas near Fade tears. Keep an eye out for green crystals scattered around as you explore.

Dragon Age The Veilguard Minrathous - Docktown Location

All features of the Minrathous – Dock Town location in Dragon Age: The Veilguard:

  • Companion: Neve
  • Merchants: Faction Store, larger marketplace, Black Emporium

Minrathous is the capital city of the Tevinter Imperium, and is home to companion Neve Gallus and the Shadow Dragon faction. In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, however, the vast majority of your focus will be on the district of Dock Town where the working class and poor citizens live. The Shadow Dragons have a hidden base within this maze of allies, and there is an eluvian mirror in the Crossroads that can teleport you directly inside. The faction vendor for the Shadow Dragons is located directly inside this hideout. Additionally, just outside the base you will find the marketplace where several vendors will have items for sale.

Furthermore, Dock Town is where the location of the Black Emporium can eventually be unlocked. You won’t have the opportunity to do this until after the end of Act 1, following the Bloodbath quest with Lucanis. Afterward, return to the Lighthouse and speak to the Caretaker. It will direct you to a location in Dock Town where you can find a cantankerous Xenon selling high quality goods.

Arlathan Forest

Dragon Age The Veilguard Arlathan Forest Location

All features of the Arlathan Forest location in Dragon Age: The Veilguard:

  • Faction: Veil Jumpers

The forest is a large area that you will return to frequently. New areas can be unlocked by solving puzzles, while others won’t be available until you start certain companion quests.

Given that Arlathan Forest is made up entirely of forest grown over and in elven ruins, you will not find another marketplace here outside of the Veil Jumper’s faction store. Moreover, with all of the quests in this area you will have a lot of opportunity to earn reputation with this group. We ideally recommend that you don’t sell your valuables here initially, unless you are really in need of the gold.

Treviso

Dragon Age The Veilguard Treviso Location

All features of the Treviso location in Dragon Age: The Veilguard:

Treviso is a vital port city on the coast of Antiva, and is home to expert assassin companion Lucanis Dellamorte and the Antivan Crows faction. You’ll be able to cross this city using both the streets and the rooftops. With plenty of hidden alcoves and attics to raid for loot. In addition to the faction store in the Crow’s hideout, you can also visit the marketplace. Moreover, Lucanis will have a companion quest that takes you to this market, where many vendors sell a wide variety of items. Lucanis will be picking up small gifts for his friends, but you can also check out merchant inventories along the way.

Finally, Treviso is another major game location where you will return again and again. Nearly all of Lucanis’ personal quests will start or take place here, and there will be side quests for the Crows, as well.

Rivain

Dragon Age The Veilguard Rivain Coast Location

All features of the Rivain location in Dragon Age: The Veilguard:

  • Faction: Lords of Fortune
  • Companion: Taash
  • Merchants: Faction Store

Rivain is a kingdom northeast of Antiva where Chantry influence is minimal and piracy is well known. The Qunari companion Taash and the Lords of Fortune faction hail from this land. This area is broken up into a couple of significant sub-locations: The Rivain Coast and the Hall of Valor. The craggy cliffs and sandy beaches of the Rivain Coast is where you will do most of your exploring. There are some ruins to find and puzzles to solve, where you will need Taash and their dragon fire to complete.

The Hall of Valor is the base location of the Lords of Fortune faction, where you can find their vendor and find a single treasure chest all the way at the bottom. The main attraction here are the arena fights at the Hall of Valor. Speak to Isabela and you’ll receive a quest where you will be challenged with defeating ten matches. The enemies you face will be mostly demons, undead, darkspawn, and mercenaries.

You’ll have to complete all ten battles to earn more than EXP. Speak to Isabela after the final fight, and she will reward you with a unique ring named Call Of The Hall, a decor piece, and cosmetic gear. The traits on the ring will boost your Takedown damage and Stagger.

Hossberg Wetlands

Dragon Age The Veilguard Hossberg Wetlands Location

All features of the Hossberg Wetlands location in Dragon Age: The Veilguard:

The Hossberg Wetlands are a blight-ravaged area where a portion of the Grey Wardens are attempting to protect the local villagers and farmers. You will meet the Grey Warden companion Davrin before this section unlocks, but this is definitely an area where many relevant quests will play out for him. When you first enter the area an eluvian mirror will take you into a stone building the Wardens are using as a base. Here you will find the Grey Warden faction vendor, as well as relevant NPCs.

The village outside is not in good shape, however, and it does not have the lively marketplace that the two larger cities do. However, keep an eye out as you move around this first open area and run past any NPCs you see. There are at least a couple of vendors out there, and they can sell very useful items.

As large as a city itself, the vaults, graves, and gardens of the Necropolis hold both treasures, along with dangerous spirits and demons.

Due to the nature of the Necropolis and the purpose of the Mourn Watchers, you will not find any kind of market place here. However, the two main Mourn Watcher NPCs you will interact with will both station themselves just inside the main entrance to the Necropolis. One will offer you quests, where you can earn Mourn Watcher faction reputation. The other servers as the faction merchant, where you can buy increasingly better items as the shop grows in Rank.
