You can try out a variety of party combinations in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, each with its own perks and playstyles.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard throws you into the beautiful lands of Thedas. Despite its attractions, however, the land is far from a park. Dragons soar in the sky, Darkspawn crawl in the underground, and literal gods descend upon the continent. The lands are unforgiving, and thankfully, you do not have to walk them alone. Companions join you along your journey, each with their own personality, goals, story, and skills. You can take up to two companions with you when you set off, allowing players to mix and match companions to form the best combinations.
In this guide, we shall go over the five best party combinations in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
1) Harding and Davrin
Harding and Davrin are the first duo we recommend bringing along with you to battle. Harding is a rogue and picks fights from a distance, while Davrin is a warrior and jumps into the heart of battle. We recommend playing as a Warrior alongside these two. Harding can provide cover fire and draw attention, letting Davrin and Rook finish off enemies. Harding can also apply Sundered, which increases the damage enemies take, making your job on the field easier.
2) Neve and Harding
Another duo we recommend bringing along is the Neve and Harding duo. Harding provides cover fire and draws attention, all while inflicting status effects from a distance. Neve, on the other hand, brings elemental ice-based damage that applies Weakened on enemies. Neve’s Icebreaker also works in perfect sync with Sundered and detonates it. Playing as a Warrior works in synergy with this duo.
3) Lucanis and Emmerich
The Antivan Crow and the Professor himself make a formidable duo in battle. Lucanis, as a Rogue Duelist, brings high DPS to your party, while Emmerich brings Necrotic damage. Emmerich can also slow down time to offer opportunities for crowd control. Lucanis’ Debilitate ability also works in perfect sync and detonates with Emmerich’s Final Rites. Playing as a Warrior works in synergy with Lucanis and offers him more breathing room. You can also use the Rogue class to the same effect.
4) Bellara and Taash
Taash and Bellara make for the perfect warrior-support duo in the game. Bellara is best used for her Soothing Potion healing ability and can fight from a distance to apply status effects like Sundered or Weakened. Bellara can also use her Enfeebling Shot to pick off enemies from a distance. Taash, on the other hand, hits hard and stays at the heart of battle. Apply Sundered on enemies and let Taash finish the job. We recommend picking Rogue to support Taash in battle.
5) Neve and Davrin
The final duo on this list comprises Neve and Davrin. The general idea behind this duo is to use Neve to inflict status effects and use Davrin to wipe enemies out. Neve’s elemental-based damage can exploit enemy weaknesses, while Davrin can use skills like Second Helping to take out multiple weakened enemies at once.
