In ‘The Tempered Soul, Everlasting’ in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you are tasked with rescuing the Viper from the clutches of the Venatori.
Dock Town in Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a melting pot of rich cultures, histories, businesses, and more. It is also a breeding ground for the seemingly never-ending conflict between the Venatori and the Shadow Dragons. As both sides play a tug of war for power, the Venatori kidnaps the Viper, an important figurehead for the Shadow Dragons.

Tempered Soul, Everlasting Quest Walkthrough
Enter the Temple of Andraste
The Viper is holed up in the Temple of Andraste. Head to the Andraste’s Watch beacon and walk toward the west. You will find an explosive barrel sitting in a corner. Destroy the barrel to open up a secret path. Follow the path straight to the Temple Courtyard guarded by the Venatori.
There are about half a dozen Venatori guarding the courtyard. The Viper sits at the end of the courtyard, chained by red crystals. You cannot free the Shadow Dragon figurehead without dealing with the Venatori. The Venatori guarding the Viper are resistant to fire, so we recommend picking anyone but Taash for this quest.
The Venatori are vulnerable to Cold, making Neve the ideal pick for this scenario. The soldiers attack in packs and can overwhelm you if you’re not careful. Stay on the move and deal with the first wave.
After you defeat the first few, more Venatori will spawn in the arena. The mages will attack from a distance while the foot soldiers keep you busy. We recommend locking on to the mages right away and dealing with them immediately. Pick off the mages and finish off the rest to clear the area.
Rescue the Viper
The Viper sits at the end of the courtyard, bound by a red crystal cage. Look above him, and you will see three red crystals hovering in the air. Destroy the three crystals and the fourth on the cage itself to free the Viper from his chains. Freeing the Viper will complete the quest and reward you with 400 Gold and 250 Reputation with the Shadow Dragons faction in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
