Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8 will bring the much-anticipated cross-play feature, 12 new subclasses, and an extensive Photo Mode.
As Baldur’s Gate 3’s lifespan cruises through its second year, Larian Studios has once again delighted fans of the game by announcing several major new features scheduled for Patch 8. These features, which include cross-play, new subclasses, and a Photo Mode, promise to refresh the game entirely, looking to entice new players and bring back veteran players to the popular game.
In this article, we shall go over all the new features scheduled for Patch 8 of Baldur’s Gate 3.
Everything New in Patch 8 of Baldur’s Gate 3
Cross-Play
Patch 8 is set to bring a boatload of new features, the most anticipated of which is the cross-play. With this feature, you will be able to hop on and play co-op with your friends regardless of their platform of choice.
“You’ll be able to invite your friends to join your cross-play lobby directly, regardless of platform, and find available multiplayer lobbies with friends using the Larian Network,” Larian Studios said in a blog post.
12 New Subclasses
While the cross-play feature was heavily anticipated, nobody saw this one coming. Larian Studios will be adding 12 new subclasses to the game in Patch 8. These subclasses will add another layer of complexity to the game for you to master. The subclasses offer a greater level of character customization, allowing your character to be exactly how you wish. The 12 new subclasses are:
- Bard – College of Glamour
- Barbarian – Path of Giants
- Cleric – Death Domain
- Druid – Circle of Stars
- Paladin – Oath of the Crown
- Fighter – Arcane Archer
- Monk – Drunken Master
- Ranger – Swarmkeeper
- Rogue – Swashbuckler
- Sorcerer – Shadow Magic
- Warlock – Hexblade
- Wizard – Bladesinging
These subclasses bring with them new abilities, animations, VFX, summons, and several new lines of dialogue.
An Extensive Photo Mode
The world of Baldur’s Gate 3 is drop-dead gorgeous and wallpaper-worthy, and Larian seems to have finally taken notice of the fact and is set to add an extensive Photo Mode to the game. The mode will let you take photographs as you see fit, with several customization options and settings to aid you in the task.
“Baldur’s Gate 3’s Photo Mode is a little like a photo booth that lets you set up pretty much any shot you’d like,” the studio proclaimed on a blog post.
The mode features a slew of settings that let you decide the character you want in the center, adjust the FOV, DOF, and lens exposure, toggle NPCs in the frame, meddle with saturation, and so much more.
