What Is the Deadlock God Roll in Destiny 2?
A god roll is the best combination of perks and masterwork that a weapon can get. God rolls are often sought after as they are considered the ultimate drop of that weapon and the most effective roll used in most content. In most situations, there are two god rolls for any gun, a roll for PvE and one for PvP. As a pinnacle PvP reward, it stands to reason that the deadlock would have a great PvP roll. It also has some decent PvE perks, but isn’t as effective as other shotguns in PvE.

PvE Deadlock God Roll
The best perks for the Deadlock PvE God Roll are Barrel Shroud, Tactical Mag, Slideshot, and Cascade Point. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Deadlock PvE God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Barrel Shroud
- Magazine: Tactical Mag
- Column 3 Trait: Grave Robber
- Column 4 Trait: Cascade Point
- Masterwork: Handling
- Stock: Short-Action Stock
- Weapon Mod: Backup Mag
PvE Breakdown
Precision frame shotguns like the Deadlock are usable but not particularly favored in PvE activities. That being said they can still be effective at all the normal shotgun use cases, such as boss damage situations or arc hunter builds. Barrel Shroud increases the handling and stability of the shotgun, while Tactical Mag increases the total number of shells that are in the magazine. Since handling is one of the more important stats to improve, the Short-Action Stock will be the better stock to use.
Competitive crucible weapons almost all have better perks for PvP than PvE. Column 3 has several decent traits but they are almost all more suited for PvP than PvE. Of these Slideshot and Grave Robber are the two worth using in most content. Both of these perks will grant you access to some kind of free reload for different situations. Column 4 has several traits that are great in PvE. Bait and Switch, One-Two Punch, and Trench Barrel are all great options for standard damage dealing; however, we went with Cascade Point as a more unique and powerful burst option.
PvP Deadlock God Roll
The best perks for the Deadlock PvP God Roll are Barrel Shroud, Accurized Rounds, Lone Wolf, and Closing Time. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Deadlock PvP God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Barrel Shroud
- Magazine: Accurized Rounds
- Column 3 Trait: Lone Wolf
- Column 4 Trait: Closing Time
- Masterwork: Stability
- Stock: Hand-Laid Stock
- Weapon Mod: Tactical
PvP Breakdown
Since it’s a competitive playlist reward weapon, the Deadlock was made to be a pinnacle shotgun for PvP use and it shows. It can easily be one of the single best shotguns to use in PvP with the right trait combination. Like PvE, Barrel Shroud is a great option to improve the stats of the weapons. Accurized Rounds will all but max out the range of the weapon, especially on a 5 out of 5 god roll. Since Handling and Range will be all but maxed under ideal conditions, Hand-Laid Stock will improve the stability of the weapon.
With the right perks activated in Columns 3 and 4, the Deadlock shotgun can effectively have max range and handling at almost all times. Lone Wolf increases its aim and accuracy when you aren’t close to your fire team members. Closing Time should be active very early in the game due to the limited amount of special ammo available in PvP matches. This powerful perk increases the Range and Handling of the weapon, two of the most important stats on a shotgun for PvP. With these bonuses, this shotgun will be a very consistent and easy-to-use weapon for close-range PvP lovers.
