These inscriptions are marked on Crescenzo’s Map and scattered across the Vatican. You’ll need both patience and strategy to locate and capture the perfect shots of these mysterious markings. Here’s how you can accomplish this task efficiently.

Each Strange Inscription is in a distinct location in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and your map will help guide you to their approximate spots. Here’s a detailed guide to reach and photograph all four.
Strange Inscription 1
- Location: Belvedere Courtyard
Begin your journey by leaving the post office after purchasing the camera. Walk to the right and head through the large doors leading to the next courtyard. Look for the second door on your right, which has a pushable gate. Inside, you’ll notice hedges being trimmed.
Walk to the far end of this area and turn to the right. The first inscription is nestled there. Frame it carefully using your camera as described earlier, ensuring the brackets align before taking the shot.
Strange Inscription 2
- Location: Belvedere Courtyard
To find the second Strange Inscription location in Indiana Jones, exit the hedge area and turn right, heading west toward Belvedere Courtyard. You’ll spot a fountain straight ahead. Circle around to the right side of the fountain to locate the second inscription.
This one requires precision. You may need to zoom in significantly and reposition yourself a few times to get the alignment just right. Be patient as this one can be tricky.
Strange Inscription 3
- Location: Southern side of Belvedere Courtyard
From the fountain, proceed to the southern side of Belvedere Courtyard. Look for a stage under construction by the Blackshirts. Move to the right of the stage and sneak around to its rear. Here, you’ll need your trusty whip to climb the scaffolding.
Once on top, follow the balcony to your right. At the end of this path, you’ll find the third inscription. Carefully position yourself to capture it with your camera.
Strange Inscription 4
- Location: Borgia Courtyards
After photographing the third inscription, turn around and move to the opposite side of the balcony. Be cautious of a Blackguard who might be patrolling. If necessary, handle him quietly to continue unhindered. Use your whip again to climb another scaffolding.
At the top, turn to the right and spot an open window. Jump through it into a hallway and then exit through another window on the opposite side. You’ll arrive at Borgia Courtyards.
Look to your right for more scaffolding. Climb it, and just a bit to the left, you’ll discover the fourth and final Strange Inscription.
How To Click Photos of the Strange Inscriptions
To photograph the Strange inscriptions in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, you first need a camera. After acquiring it, remember to equip it by pressing up on the D-pad. Once it’s in hand, hold the left trigger to look through the viewfinder.
The key to a good photo lies in aligning two sets of brackets visible in the viewfinder. If the fuzzy brackets are too small, step closer or zoom in. If they’re too large, step back or zoom out. When the brackets align perfectly, the option to take the picture will appear. Keep adjusting your position until you achieve this alignment.
Photographing the inscriptions requires attention to detail, but with careful framing and a bit of persistence, you’ll complete this objective successfully.
