Fists
Believe it or not, Indy’s Fists are the best reliable weapons that you will be using for most of the encounters. Most of the encounters will be in hand-to-hand combat with either a single enemy or a couple of them. If you feel more pushed by the enemies, you can push them away with your fists by getting close to them. Pushing the enemies away will give you more room to use your fist attacks on them to knock them out. Moreover, if there is an environmental weapon in your sight, pick it up and use it on the enemy to knock them out. Lastly, you can also equip the Whip to use it on the enemy to make them fall to the ground and follow up with fists to eliminate them.
Moreover, during hand-to-hand combat, press the V / Left ALT (PC) or LB (XBOX) to Block/Parry an incoming attack. Holding the respective button will keep you in a block stance and allow you to take less damage from the attacks. If you press the block button right before an enemy is attacking, you will parry the attack and can follow it up with a counterattack using the opposite fist.
For instance, if you parry an attack with a right fist, you need to use the left fist for a counterattack. It will be the LT button (XBOX). If you practice parrying and counterattacking, you can easily defeat enemies in hand-to-hand combat.
However, another thing that is worth mentioning is that blocking and parrying do consume stamina. If you stay in a blocking stance for long, it can deplete your stamina completely, making you vulnerable to the next attacks.
Whip
Whip is an iconic Indy equipment item and it is always available for you in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. For most of the adventure, you will use Whip for traversal to cover long gaps or climb up higher ledges. Moreover, you can use it during combat for various reasons.
- Cracking the Whip at the enemy will make them flinch, allowing you to get close and punch them or hit them with an environmental weapon.
- If an enemy is holding a weapon, cracking a Whip at them will most likely make them drop the weapon.
- Grabbing the enemy with the Whip by holding the action button will allow you to either pull the enemy close to you or drop them to the ground. If you grab an enemy by the arms, it will pull them close to you and if you grab them by the leg, it will make them fall.
All of these actions are crucial in fighting the enemies and lowering your risk of getting attacked. If you do not have any strong weapon to use against an enemy, Whip is the best option overall. Lastly, for finishing an enemy, your fists will do just fine.
Revolver
Indy’s Revolver is another personal weapon that you can use at any time as long as you have the bullets. The ammunition for Revolver is scarce making the gun more situational to use. If you fire a shot of the Revolver, it will most likely attract all enemies to your location making it harder for you to escape or survive. It is best to use the Revolver against a giant or in a boss fight to easily win the fight.
Moreover, the guns can be used as a melee weapon to knock enemies out quietly. If you equip a gun or Indy’s Revolver, pressing the E (PC) or X (XBOX) will make Indy hold the gun as a Melee Weapon. If you press the action button in this stance, it will allow Indy to swing the gun. It is an efficient way to take out enemies with a hard hit.
However, all guns including Indy’s Revolver have durability. If you use the gun as a melee weapon with low durability, it will most likely destroy the gun. You will not be able to use the gun again until you repair it using the Repair Kit.
How to use weapons in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle?
You can use the weapons with the same action buttons as Fists. LMB (PC) or the RT (XBOX) will let you attack with the weapon you are currently equipping. Moreover, if you are equipping a gun, press the RMB (PC) or the LT (XBOX) to aim efficiently. Furthermore, you can use every gun as a Melee Weapon by pressing the E (PC) or the X (XBOX).
For the Whip, you can crank it at the enemies by pressing the attack button once. Moreover, if you hold the attack button while equipping the Whip, it will grab the enemy allowing you to either pull them close or make them fall to the ground.
Lastly, you can use the environmental items as a melee weapon or throwing weapon. Using the attacking action will let you swing the item you are holding and if you aim with the item, it will let you throw it.
How to find weapons in Indiana Jones?
The most common type of weapons that you will find throughout the adventure are environmental items. All of these items are highlighted and you can identify them easily. However, you can pick up and use one item at a time. Picking up another item/weapon will swap the item/weapon that you are currently equipping.
Moreover, you can also find other guns from enemy bodies or open a secret safe/chest in a location. These weapons are not easy to come by and have limited ammunition like Indy’s Revolver. However, if you run out of bullets for these weapons, you can still use them as a Melee Weapon.
