Nanao is the serious one who keeps the 8th Division running while her captain, Kyoraku Shunsui, goofs off. She comes off as very strict and unable to have fun with the way she looks and acts. She is very passionate about her job and takes her duties and responsibilities very seriously.
However, despite all the strictness, Nanao is very caring and emotional. She cares for every single one in her Division—wanting them to do better. While she is not the type to give hugs, smile at everyone, or make speeches about feelings, she shows her affection in other ways. 8. Kiyone Kotetsu
Kiyone brings energy and life wherever she goes. Sure, when she was in the 13th division, she spent too much time arguing with her co-worker Sentaro, but she meant well. She used to look up to her captain, Ukitake, and would do anything to help him. At that time, Ukitake was sick, and she used to cater to his needs to allow him to rest and recover well.
Currently, she is the lieutenant of the 4th division under her sister Isane, and she is still a bundle of energy. What makes Kiyone special is how she lifts everyone’s spirits. Even when things look bad, she stays positive and tries to cheer others up. She might not be the strongest fighter, but her good attitude makes a real difference.
7. Yoruichi Shihoin
Shihoin Yoruichi might seem too cool to be on this list. She was the former captain of the 2nd squad, the Stealth and Assassination squad, who could beat almost anyone in a fight. As the captain, she was one of the strongest captains in the Soul Society. While her resting face can make you believe she is not nice, Yoruichi is very jovial and playful.
During her time in the Soul Society, she enjoyed teasing Byakuya and Sui Feng a lot. She has risked her life so many times to save the people she cares about, like when she came to rescue Ichigo in the Soul Society arc. She even spent time teaching Ichigo how to get stronger when he needed it most. Plus, she has a soft spot for cats, which tells you something about her heart.
6. Toshiro Hitsugaya
Toshiro is a prodigy and the youngest captain in the history of the Soul Society. Probably, as a means to not be treated like a child, he acts seriously all the time. He can usually be seen not smiling, looking angry, and maybe forcing his voice to be deeper than it is meant to be. Hos’s zanpakuto is an ice-based zanpakuto that fits his outward personality.

5. Jushiro Ukitake
Captain of the 13th division, Jushiro Ukitake had to make a feature on this list and is easily one of the kindest Bleach characters. Despite the fact that for most of the show, he was sick, Ukitake still showed kindness and compassion to all those around him. As a result of his personality, he became well-respected in the Soul Society. He treats everyone with respect and does not look down on anyone regardless of their background, unlike some other characters.
Ukitake believes in fairness and justice. He always tries to resolve conflicts peacefully and does his best to guide younger Soul Reapers. 4. Rangiku Matsumoto

3. Orihime Inoue
Orihime is the sweetest person you’ll meet in Bleach. She is similar to Ichigo and often puts everyone else’s needs before her own. She is approachable—making people smile with her kind nature. Even when things get scary or dangerous, and she is frightened, she can still be seen to care for the well-being of others. Her nature of wanting to help others transcends her care for her safety. She worries a lot about her friends and would risk her own life to keep them safe.

2. Rukia Kuchiki

Urahara might seem like a weird shop owner with a bucket hat who jokes around a little too much. He acts goofy and childish most of the time, and it is easy to take him as a gag character. But there’s way more to him than the story lets on initially. Urahara used to be a captain and is one of the smartest people in the whole story. He’s always making new devices for Soul Reapers to help them grow stronger and solve their problems.
Even though he acts unserious a lot, he’s one of the kindest characters around. He took in Ichigo and trained him to be the badass Soul Reaper is today. On some occasions, he has been shown to risk his life to fight for the safety of the people he cares about.
Even after getting banished from the Soul Society, he still helps them when needed. This alone makes him one of the kindest Bleach characters. Behind his silly fan and hat, he’s got a big heart and will do whatever it takes to help his friends.
