My Hero Academia follows the complex dynamic between heroes and villains in society. Over the course of the series, there have been antagonistic characters such as All For One and Tomura, who wield enough power to destroy the entire world. Thankfully, to combat them, heroes with a powerful spirit and competent abilities step up to the plate.

Here are eight such My Hero Academia Pro Heroes who played a significant role in protecting humanity.

1) All Might

It goes without saying that the former Number 1 Hero All Might is one of the most important figures in My Hero Academia. All Might single-handedly maintained societal stability through his presence, causing fear in the hearts of villains and inspiring the rest of society.

Being a long-time rival of All For One, All Might faced the antagonist multiple times. He put his body on the line, instrumental to All For One’s imprisonment early in the series. During the Final War Arc, his heroic fight against his nemesis despite having lost his Quirk was a moment that had fans at the edge of their seats.

Even going past All Might’s direct contributions, he is a flagbearer of the ideal hero, having inspired countless people. Without him, Deku would have never been the person who saved the world in the end. Hence, his countless contributions have cemented his place as humanity’s greatest hero.

2) Hawks

Hawks is one of My Hero Academia’s most beloved characters—taking the hard decisions for the sake of winning a war. He was originally a double agent who worked from within the League of Villains to benefit the heroes.

During the Paranormal Liberation War, he realized the disastrous impact of letting Twice enter the battle. To prevent this, he made the brutal choice of killing the villain, fully aware of how hypocritical it would make him seem. Hawks carried forward his important role in the series in the final war, directly confronting All For One.

He worked with the other heroes to greatly damage the villain, fighting back even when at the doorstep of death. Hence, Hawks’ presence was crucial to Bakugo eventually interfering and killing All For One.

3) Endeavor

Endeavor is one of My Hero Academia’s best-written characters, and he possesses immense strength. As the man who took the mantle of the top hero after All Might, Endeavor became the new symbol of hope.

His fight against Hood displayed his willingness to put his life on the line for the sake of protecting the citizens. He led the charge against the villains in the Paranormal Liberation War, fighting to prevent Tomura and All For One’s plans.

Endeavor also fought alongside his family to restrain Dabi in the final war, greatly harming the villains’ forces. His leadership and desire to atone for his sins greatly motivated his actions, where he fought with enough intensity to give himself permanent injuries. Nevertheless, Endeavor cared little about this, as he wished to regain his family and protect humanity.

4) Star and Stripe

Star and Stripe only stayed in My Hero Academia briefly, but her impact was immeasurable. After recognizing the growing threat of Tomura, she set off on her own to face the villain and protect the world.

With her Quirk, New Order, she damaged him greatly, to the point where he even seemed close to defeat. Unfortunately, Tomura’s Decay abilities and natural counter to the New Order let him emerge victorious.

Despite this, right before her death, Star and Stripe ensured to corrupt Tomura from the inside. She made her stolen Quirk rebel against all of the antagonist’s Quirks, which made Tomura lose several abilities. This bought valuable time for the heroes, who were making preparations for the final war.

5) Edgeshot

Edgeshot is an extremely underrated hero in My Hero Academia who proved invaluable in the final war. During the confrontation against Tomura, Bakugo suffered a fatal injury. Right when everyone believed him dead, Edgeshot realized the young hero’s worth and jumped into action.

He used his transformation-based Quirk and ninja techniques to fix Bakugo’s injury, allowing him to return to battle. Having nearly sacrificed himself to save the deuteragonist, Edgeshot reviving Bakugo had an extremely positive result.

Bakugo went on to save All Might from All For One, even killing the fearsome antagonist. He later assisted Deku in defeating Tomura and ending the war. Hence, while Edgeshot may not have a lot of direct involvement in the series, his saving Bakugo’s life helped the heroes win.

6) Eraser Head

As the teacher of Class 1-A, Eraser Head is one of the most popular My Hero Academia characters. This hero might seem apathetic, but he is extremely caring in reality. He puts his body in harm’s way to use his Erasure Quirk and protect others.

Eraser Head has been one of the most continually useful characters in the series. He fought against the League of Villains to protect his students when they infiltrated the academy. He also went on to play an important role in the Paranormal Liberation War, erasing the Quirks of dangerous villains like Garaki and Tomura.

Despite being heavily injured, he devised the plan for the final battle against Tomura and All For One’s forces. Hence, even after losing a leg against the villains, Eraser Head continued working towards the good of society. He shaped the students in his class to become reliable heroes, assisting them with his nullifying abilities.

7) Mirko

The Rabbit Hero Mirko is one of the most impressive and powerful figures in My Hero Academia. She was a source of unrelenting courage and strength, defeating multiple Nomus at the Jaku Hospital.

She continued tearing through them in hopes of stopping Tomura’s evolution, even losing an arm and a leg in the process. Nevertheless, while she had to be saved by Endeavor in the end, her spirit didn’t dampen.

In the Final War Arc, Mirko tried fulfilling her unfinished business, launching another attack on Tomura. She showed no fear against him, successfully holding him off while Edgeshot saved Bakugo. While she was brutally beaten down by the highly morphed body of Tomura by the end, it was enough to provide the edge for the main cast’s victory.

Therefore, Mirko’s ability to withstand pain and push forward in the face of overwhelming odds made her an indispensable part of the heroes’ efforts to save humanity.

8) Mt. Lady

Mt. Lady is often overlooked due to her flashy personality, but she has proven herself several times in the series. Her Gigantification abilities were central to the struggle against Gigantomachia in the Paranormal Liberation War. She faced the powerful antagonist on her own while the other heroes attempted to feed him a sedative and knock him out.

Despite the heavy aftermath and criticism of heroes following this war, Mt. Lady was one of the few who held strong. She was dedicated to helping society and assisting others in recuperating from the damage.

Mt. Lady continued her contribution in the final war, where she fought multiple villains at the same time. She cared little about her own well-being, even confronting All For One before being critically injured. Mt. Lady’s willingness to throw herself into battle, even when outmatched, demonstrated her dedication to protecting civilians and the hero society.
