In Blue Prince, you will find terminals in certain rooms, such as the Laboratory, Office, Security, and Shelter. Each terminal has a specific function, and the Laboratory is dedicated to experiments. Although the Laboratory contains a periodic table puzzle, its primary purpose is to conduct various experiments and create unique house features.

Learning how to conduct experiments helps you create effects that benefit your run in different ways. Moreover, some effects even offer permanent buffs. Let’s go over how to start a Laboratory experiment and how it works in Blue Prince.

To start an experiment in Blue Prince, you first need to draft a Laboratory. The terminal in the Laboratory provides access to the Experimental House Features system. Alternatively, you can initiate experiments through the Remote Terminal or Offline Terminal features. To access the Remote Terminal, you must log in to the terminal using the password. On the other hand, the Offline Terminal can only be accessed by unlocking the Blackbridge Grotto

Once you access the Laboratory terminal, navigate to Experiment Setup > Continue with Experiment. Then, choose a cause from Column A and an effect from Column B, and click Combine. Finally, hit the Start Experiment option to initiate the experiment.

While proceeding with the Continue with Experiment option, you will be presented with three random causes and effects. You need to choose one cause (Column A) and one effect (Column B) from these options. The ideal strategy is to choose the condition that is likely to occur more frequently during your run, as this increases the chances of triggering the selected effect.

For instance, if you have a keycard or disabled the security door system, you can choose the security door-related condition from Column A. Combining it with your desired effect from the provided options will likely increase your chances of triggering the effect.

Moreover, each successful experiment raises the level of radiation across the estate. The more successful experiments you trigger, the higher the radiation level becomes. This helps you unlock all doors in the estate by initiating an emergency protocol from the Bomb Shelter Radiation Monitor feature.
