Head to the Falling Leaves sub-region to face the Scavenger. However, you will first have to unlock Esquie’s ability to break corals. Upon entering this region, a Gestral will inform you about a fearsome enemy called the Scavenger ahead. However, you can’t immediately go ahead and start a battle with this boss. To get to the Scavenger, you will first need to talk to the young boy who stands guard outside a pair of doors. He’ll request you to ask the Lady of the Sap (a huge NPC in the same region) why she decided to kill so many people.

Find the Lady of the Sap nearby and talk to her, asking her what the Young Boy wanted to know. She’ll say, “I do it for him. I do it for us.” Return to the Young Boy with her answer. He’ll ask you to help him stop the Lady of the Sap. He’ll then open the set of doors right behind him. Take the path beyond the door and interact with the rope to climb up. There, the Scavenger boss is waiting for you.

As the battle begins, you will realize that the boss employs dark-element attacks. So, any weapons that have the light element will work great against him. Also, make sure to inflict burn on the Scavenger, even though he’s resistant to it. With enough burn stacks on the foe, he’ll keep losing chunks of his HP due to the status ailment, which helps close the fight early.

As the battle progresses, you will see the Scavenger change the time of day from daytime to evening. After darkness falls, the Scavenger will start using sneak attacks. You need to carefully watch for such attacks to time your dodges or parries perfectly. The boss will also call in several Masks to aid in the fight. Their ranged attacks can lead to the Dizzy status ailment if one of your teammates is hit. In this state, you will have a much harder time aiming at targets for ranged attacks.

So, dodge the attacks from the Masks, but keep all your attacks focused on the Scavenger. After defeating the enemy, you will receive a weapon for Lune, called Scaverim. It is a dark-element-based weapon. Besides that, you will also get 3x Resplendent Chroma Catalysts for your weapon upgrades.
