Death Stranding 2 makes the experience as close to reality as possible. Sam will not only require showers, but he will also have to visit the toilet like any normal human being from time to time. These aren’t just tasks that you’ll have to tick off, since engaging in them has real gameplay benefits.

How To Use a Toilet or Take a Shower in Death Stranding 2

To take a shower or visit the toilet, Sam needs to head inside a Private Room. You will find these Private Rooms in all Safehouses. Besides that, you might also find such rooms at a few Prepper Bases and Distribution Centers. Once Sam is inside one of these Private Rooms, you won’t be able to move him around. Instead, you can pan the camera and point it to the shower to get the option “Use Toilet/Shower.” If you choose this, a cutscene that shows Sam taking the shower will begin.

Effects of Taking a Shower in Death Stranding 2

You can immediately spot that Sam looks much cleaner and fresher after taking a shower. Showering is also a great way to cure sunburn if Sam is suffering from it. The Chiral Crystals you collect while showering can also go a long way toward increasing Sam’s overall load-bearing capacity. Every 1000 cg of the material you collect will increase his carrying capacity by 1 unit. However, keep in mind that showering is just one way of gathering the resource. You can also find and salvage it from various sources out in the world.
