Tomorrow is one of the new characters in Death Stranding 2. Played by Elle Fanning, we first encounter her in Episode 5, where we see her for the first time in a fleeting glimpse walking in the Land of the Dead. By the end of the episode, both Sam and Tomorrow are back in the real world. Sam takes her back to the DHV Magellan so that Tarman and Fragile can take care of her.
While we don’t see her full powers until a little later, it is clear early on that she has the ability to age anything she touches with her hands (similar to timefall) in an accelerated manner. In short cutscenes, we see her practicing with apples to control her powers. So, what are her full powers as shown in Death Stranding 2?
Death Stranding 2: Tomorrow Is One of the Most Powerful Characters
Tomorrow seems to have the following powers in Death Stranding 2:
- Accelerates the progress of time for anything she touches with her hands.
- Can use the tar currents to move underneath the ground and can jump out from anywhere to surprise the enemy (she needs to be barefoot for this).

Other than these, she seems to be extremely agile and skilled in close-quarter combat, especially using her ability to slip into the tar currents. She can also use the tar pool under her feet to glide around her targets.
We first see Tomorrow use her exceptional powers after she runs away from the DHV Magellan. Sam is tasked with following her footsteps, finding her, and bringing her back. After a while, Sam is waylaid by a cohort of armed mechs. While you are able to deal with them initially, a cutscene triggers where one of the armed mechs is overpowering Sam before suddenly disintegrating into dust.
It is revealed that Tomorrow is standing behind it and touching it with her hand. She unties her hair, kicks off her shoes, and unleashes her power against the armed mechs still standing. She utilizes her ability to slip underneath the ground, accelerate aging with her touch, and use the tar pool to glide around. Her powers appear extremely strong against the armed mechs as she makes short work of them.
Can You Play As Tomorrow in Death Stranding 2?
No, Tomorrow is not a playable character in Death Stranding 2.

It would have been interesting to see how Kojima would have adapted her extraordinary powers from a gameplay perspective. There likely would have been a cooldown for her abilities to ensure that she didn’t come across as overpowered. However, that would also have impacted the game’s general theme of the porter delivering cargo if the player character had so much power.
