How to Unlock Mystic Spearhand Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2
Unlock Mystic Spearhand Vocation in Melve, speak with Sigurd, and defeat the dragon to complete the quest. After you Unlock Mystic Spearhand you can change your vocation for 200 Dcp (Dyscypline points) to Mystic Spearhand.
The Mystic Spearhand is a hybrid vocation with a versatile weapon called Duospears. It combines melee combat and Magick and is one of six vocations you must unlock before playing it. However, this vocation is the best if you need a powerful, fast damage dealer with good crowd-control abilities. Your pawns cannot use this vocation, so it’s only available for Arisen.
You can get Mystic Spearhand Vocation by following the steps described below.
Head to the Vernworth
Melve is one of the first locations you will visit in Dragon’s Dogma 2. It’s a small city in the north, near where you start the game and learn more about your scar and were cared for by Ulrika. When you arrive in Vernworth, Captain Brandt will give you the Monster Culling quest, which requires you to fight monsters in three different locations. If you wish, you can also unlock two more vocations there: Sorcerer and Warrior in Vernworth.
However, to unlock the Mystic Spearhand Vocation, you must speak with Sigurd, who is in Melve at the beginning of the game. Consequently, return to this starting city, and you should encounter a dragon attack as soon as you arrive.
Defeat the Dragon
The cutscene with the Plague Dragon attack should play as soon as you return to Melve. You will see guards and Sigurd, the Mystic Spearhand Vocation maister, fighting the beast. Join them and help them defeat the dragon. In the end, Ulrika will express her gratitude to you and Sigurd for your assistance.
This encounter is random, and there is a slight chance you won’t trigger the event. If so, try to return to Vernworth City and back to Melve again. To increase your chances, we advise you to try to trigger the event and come back to Melve as soon as possible because you won’t be able to meet Sigurd and unlock this vocation until later in the game.
Speak with Sigurd to Unlock Mystic Spearhand Vocation
After the fight, speak with Sigurd and ask him about his style of play. He will explain the intricacies of the Mystic Spearhand Vocation and teach you the craft.
If you miss the opportunity to meet Sigurd during your early gameplay, you can encounter him later at the entrance of Dragonsbreath Tower or in Harve Village. Both locations are important parts of the main story, and once you reach them, ensure you search for him there.
In Harve Village, Sigurd will stand inside the Coastal Hut. Once you engage him in conversation, he will be able to identify you as the Arisen and immediately grant you access to the Mystic Spearhand Vocation. Additionally, Sigurd will mention the honor of joining you in your fight against the Plague Dragon.
