Dragon's Dogma 2 Fighter Maister Lennart

How to Find Fighter Vocation Maister

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can unlock a special ability for each vocation by finding the vocation maister and winning their approval. Completing some of the quests can be time-consuming, but the powerful abilities usually are worth it.

Moreover, you do not have to have any specific Vocation Rank before unlocking ultimate abilities. However, you do have to have the vocation itself unlocked. Thankfully, this is simple for the Fighter vocation as you will automatically have access to it from the start of the game.

This guide will walk you through how to find the Fighter Vocations Maister in Dragon’s Dogma 2 and the quest you must complete to unlock the ability.

How to Find Fighter Maister Lennart

  • Maister: Lennart
  • Location: Melve
  • Required Quest: ‘Readvent of Calamity’. This will send you back to Melve to fight a dragon. Then help out Ulrika in Harve Village and Lennart will reward you with the Soldier’s Code scroll.
  • Quest Timer: If you progress too far in the game you risk losing access to this ultimate ability. This quest will no longer be available after you complete ‘Feast of Deception’ in Vernworth.
  • Ultimate Ability – Riotous Fury: Rains a flurry of powerful blows on the target, dealing massive damage at great cost to stamina. Leaves the user vulnerable if the first strike misses.

How To Find the Readvent of Calamity Quest

Lennart will be in Melve the first time you visit, and the game will even direct you to him through the main story quest. However, this first time will be an introduction only, you will have to return to the town later to unlock the ultimate ability. This starts with the Readvent of Calamity quest, which you will have to fulfill some requirements to trigger.

Here are the steps you take to begin the Readvent of Calamity quest:

  • Follow the game until it takes you to the capital city of Vernworth.
  • In Vernworth meet with Captain Brant in the bar/pub at night and agree to help cull monsters.
  • Visit the three separate locations, kill the monsters, and turn in the quest to Captain Brant.
  • Wait or rest until at least three days have passed.
  • REST AT AN INN before you leave town. You will want this save in case you need to reload.
  • Go to the ox cart station on the northeast side of town and get a ride back to Melve.
  • When you arrive a dragon should be attacking the town again. As you approach, the Readvent of Calamity will automatically begin.

Fighting the Dragon in Melve

At this point in the game you typically aren’t at a high enough level to defeat a dragon, and the game accounts for this by having it fly off after you’ve gotten it’s health down a certain amount. However, it is possible to beat the dragon by using Melve’s ballista weapon found at the top of the tower in the northwest corner of town.

Furthermore, the Readvent of Calamity quest also coincides with finding the Mystic Spearhand Vocation Maister and you can follow our guide for how to unlock both the Mystic Spearhand vocation and the Mystic Spearhand ultimate ability. This guide will also give you a step-by-step walk though of how to use the ballista.

You do not have to defeat the dragon to gain the Fighter ultimate ability, you can simply drive it off and that will suffice. However, if you kill the dragon and have helped Harve Village with their multiple saurian problems already, then Lennart should give you the Fighter ultimate ability without any further trouble.

How to Find Ulrika

After defeating or driving off the dragon, if Lennart doesn’t teach you the Fighter ultimate, then you will need to complete another quest. Speak to Ulrika at her home and a scene should play out where she is being questioned by an official named Martin. If this event doesn’t trigger at first, rest and try again.

After Martin leaves, speak to Ulrika yourself. At the end of the conversation, she will tell you it’s time to rest. When you wake up the next day she is gone. Lennart will then come and ask you to find her.

You can find Ulrika at Harve Village to the west of Vernworth. You should have already visited once during the monster-culling quest for Captain Brant. Upon your return, you may discover that some saurians have invaded again, and you’ll need to help the village fight them off. Ulrika will be there and she’ll assist you. When the fight is won, she will ask you to return to Lennart and tell him she is okay.

How to Unlock Riotous Fury

Once you have completed the quest requirements and his affinity is high enough, then Lennart will give you the Soldier’s Code scroll. In summary, you will have to complete Readvent of Calamity by either killing the dragon or driving it off. Additionally, you will need to help out Harve Village (and Ulrika) by driving off the Saurians in Scaly Invaders. These two quests can be done in any order.

Afterwards, return to Lennart at Melve. You will likely find him out near the town’s main entrance keeping an eye on things. Speak to him and he will give you the Soldier’s Code. You should be able to go into your inventory and click to Use the scroll. This will automatically unlock the Heavenly Shot skill for your Arisen or main Pawn to use.

To equip the skill, simply visit a campfire or stop at a Vocation Guild.
