Magick Archer Vocation (Class) Overview
The Magik Archer is an enhanced Hybrid Vocation that uses magic bows. It relies on its proficiency in ranged combat, spellcasting, and support abilities to deal damage and excel on the battlefield. This unique class combines potent offensive and defensive spellcasting capabilities with arrows.
Magick Archer Vocation (Class) Features in Dragon’s Dogma 2:
- Vocation: Hybrid Vocation
- Weapons: Magick Bows
- Available for Pawns: No
- Playstyle: Magic and Ranged
- Advantages: High Damage, Mobility, Support
The vocation you choose in Dragon’s Dogma 2 defines the skills, playstyle, and weapons you or your pawns (companions) can use in combat. Additionally, as you level up, you will improve statistics and unlock Augments, which are passive boosts. Both will help you increase your combat efficiency, including survivability and damage output.
It’s important to know that you can change your actively equipped skills at any campfire if you have a camping kit. You can obtain a camping kit by purchasing it from merchants, or, if you are lucky, you may find one in the world. However, it’s worth noting that you cannot unlock new skills or change your vocation at campfires.
Should you play Magick Archer Vocation (Class) in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Magick Archer is an excellent choice for players who want to play a mix between an archer and a mage. You will stay in the backlines and deal significant damage while keeping the essential crowd-control tools. Thanks to the archer class similarities, this vocation makes it easy to move around the battlefield and even reach flying enemies.
The advantage of using arrows is a lower emphasis on long animation cast time compared to mage or sorcerer, thus giving you the option to do damage on the move with Magick Archer Vocation. However, its exceptional spellcasting skills can come at the cost of raw damage output.
It’s worth noting that playing from afar doesn’t mean you will stand in one place and never have to worry about incoming damage. Also, one of the class’s weaknesses is low resistance to enemy attacks. You don’t have the survivability of a warrior. As a result, you will most likely need to change your position often.
Additionally, You can’t use the Magick Archer class for your Pawn. If you want your Pawn to learn an advanced vocation, consider Warrior or Sorcerer.

Defenses and survival tips: While the Magick Archer has impressive offensive capabilities, its lower base stats and weaker-than-archer or thief vocations mobility leave it vulnerable to close-quarters attacks. To mitigate this vulnerability, players should prioritize maintaining distance from enemies and utilizing crowd control abilities to keep foes at bay. To enhance the Magick Archer’s survivability in combat, it’s important to effectively use healing spells and master defensive maneuvers. This will ensure that the Magick Archer remains effective on the battlefield.

Magick Archer Skills and Augments
Just like all vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2, Archer has access to three types of skills:
- Weapon Skills: Vocation-dependent weapon skills refer to specialized weapon techniques that may differ among various vocations, even if they share the same weapons. ( As such, it is crucial to understand the weapon skills available to your vocation to optimize your combat abilities.) These skills can be executed by pressing the related weapon skill button.
- Core Skills: Skills that are dependent on a specific weapon can be used by any vocation that has access to it. These skills are performed by pressing the light and heavy attack buttons in a specific order.
- Augments: Passive trait buffs are earned when leveling a specific vocation. Once unlocked, the augment can be used regardless of the character’s vocation.
