The Shu True Ending Route in Dynasty Warriors Origins can be unlocked once you have defeated the game once with Shu and here’s how to do it.
To unlock Shu True Ending Route in Dynasty Warriors Origins, you will need to meet a couple of requirements. The first and foremost is to complete Shu’s story in-game. This will allow you to go back and play a couple of missions in order to get the faction’s True Ending unlocked.
While Dynasty Warriors Origins features three factions, there are more than three endings, as confirmed by Tomohiko Sho. These add to the replayability potential of the game and encourage players to tinker and figure out what they need to do to reach these special endings.
How to Unlock Shu True Ending Route in Dynasty Warriors Origins
Once you have completed Shu’s Story in Dynasty Warriors Origins, go back to Chapter 5 in the Story Mode where you will find the Golden Banner. The latter would prompt you to replay the Battle of Changban, where Liu Bei is escaping with the peasants, and you are tasked to ensure it happens safely. To unlock the True Ending Route for the Shu Faction, you will have to instead defeat the Cao Cao forces.
Taking on Cao Cao’s Large Force will be an uphill task even for high-ranked players. A lower difficulty may help out in the matter. We also suggest picking a formidable Partner, like Zhang Fei, and the Wheel Weapon, which can have a significant impact in carving out the foes.
The Battle of Changban
Your initial focus will be tacking Cao Cao’s officers and helping out the peasants. With Liu Bei starting his retreat, you will notice that three groups of armies have spawned on the southwestern part of the map. You will need to tackle the first one head-on. By the time you are done with them and provided you are on the Historian difficulty, you can choose to disengage and fight the enemies on the south of the bridge.
Cao Cao’s Main Force will likely have arrived by now in the north. Defeat the smaller groups as you make your way to the Large Force. The task is quite simple at this point – you will need to kill as many as possible before their Grand Tactics (Focused Fury, where you have to kill 2 enemy officers, and Burning Ardor, where you have to kill 250 enemies) is triggered.
With heals, Fire Arrow, Cavalry Charge, and proper usage of the Dodge/Parry mechanic, you should be able to turn the tide towards victory. Before we forget, make good use of Zhang Fei and his Rage Musou to have an easier time. Once you deal with his army and have made your way to Cao Cao, defeat him to unlock the True Ending Route for Shu in Dynasty Warriors Origins.
