The White Terror is the final hurdle you have to conquer in the Livestock’s Bane side quest. You can obtain this quest in the Grasslands on the Community Notice Boards in Kalm. It is recommended to be Level 18 for this quest.

At Oliver’s ranch, you’ll learn about the issue plaguing his animals. He will ask you to track down the monster attacking his animals. From here on, you have to use your chocobo to track down the monster’s scent. This quest is supposed to serve as a tutorial for the scent mechanic, which can be used by your chocobos.

This ferocious wolf will be located on the eastern beach, and you can proceed into the actual boss fight.

The White Terror can have HP ranging from 5,000 to 58,000 based on whether you are in Easy or Hard mode. It is recommended that you are at least Level 18 before fighting this beast.

The White Terror can be a challenge in the early game, mainly due to not having any weaknesses. At the same time, it also doesn’t have resistance to any element, so all elements will work the same and won’t lock you into a particular one.

It should be noted that the White Terror does have immunity to Stone and Proportional Damage, like most other bosses, so Petrify won’t work on it.

Using Assess on the White Terror will reveal the mechanics of this boss. The intel states that the White Terror will be charging energy over time. Blocking its attacks or damaging it while it is charging will cause the wolf to lose energy.

The White Terror always starts the battle by charging up energy, so interrupt this with some ranged attacks (Barret or Aerith can accomplish this easily). Watch out for whenever the White Terror pauses and starts gathering particles around its body; this will be its charging phase, so interrupt it quickly. Otherwise, it will release some devastating attacks on your party.

Barret will be a great addition to the team since he can interrupt its charging from anywhere on the battlefield. Paired with his Focused Shot, staggering the boss becomes much easier. Cloud is also a good pick for the party as he can block and land some great counters on the wolf to make it lose more energy. As soon as the boss is pressured, Focused Shot (Barret), Focused Strike (Tifa), and Focused Thrust (Cloud) can work wonders on it.

White Terror Moves and Skills to Avoid

Be sure to watch out for two of the main dangerous moves. The first one is called Earsplitting Howl, where the wolf starts tossing flames in every direction around itself. This move will only be used if it charges up enough to perform it, so you don’t have to worry about this move for most of the battle. The second dangerous move is Throat Clamp, which is an unblockable move where the wolf jumps at your character very fast. Try to watch for the indicator and dodge at the last second, or have some healing ready in case it lands the move.

Whittling away its HP while it’s staggered is the recommended strategy. Keep attacking to make it lose energy so it doesn’t get to perform Earsplitting Howl. Keep up the pressure, and you should be able to defeat it in some time. You can now go back and finish the Livestock’s Bane quest.

That was everything you need to know about the White Terror in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
