How To Find The Naginata in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The pursuit of finding The Naginata begins when you talk to Lady Nene at Azuchi’s Hideyoshi Residence. Yasuke and Lady Nene will have a conversation, which will reveal a bit more about the Samurai’s past. Talking to her will unlock many quests, one of which you’ll need to complete to continue tracking The Naginata. The mission is ‘An Evening In Otsu,’ where you will interrupt a duel and kill several ambushers. After the dust settles, you’ll get a new mission where you’ll need to track down Shotei.

When you reach Shotei in the Shimmering Fields, you’ll discover the character in a drunken state. Another ambush follows, where you’ll again have to fight multiple foes. After the fight ends, Shotei will guide you to Katsuhime on the very top of the Enryakuji Temple. You should play this section as Naoe, as you can reach Katsuhime quicker with her. Katsuhime will finally reveal the location of your assassination target, The Naginata.

You’ll return to Shotei once more and discuss the plan of action. You can then choose to play as either Yasuke or Naoe, although both protagonists will have certain sections during the next mission. The Naginata is inside the Sakamoto Castle and that’s where you’ll have to go.

How To Defeat The Naginata in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

After you defeat Gamo Yoshimitsu as Yasuke and take out the explosives as Naoe, you’ll have to pick which protagonist you want to play when assassinating The Naginata, aka Akechi Kagemitsu. Regardless of whichever character you pick, you’ll find the target inside a multi-leveled building in Sakamoto Castle. Kagemitsu will be on the top floor.

There isn’t any cutscene or dialogue that happens before the fight. He fights with a naginata but doesn’t have an armor bar. So, it’s easy to simply take a few shots at him before parrying or rolling out of the way of his attacks. Yasuke can end the fight much quicker due to the greater amount of damage he does. However, you shouldn’t have as much difficulty as Naoe either. A cutscene will play after you defeat the target, where the protagonist will try to find more information from the dying man.
