The Artificer’s Orbs in Path of Exile 2 are acquired by either salvaging equipment or a random drop from enemies. These items add sockets to a martial weapon or armor so you place runes in them and add powerful effects to your equipment.

You will need a lot of Artificer’s Orbs to upgrade your items in the game. Fortunately, these items are quite easy to get so you won’t be grinding too much just to get them.

This guide will show you how to get Artificer’s Orbs in Path of Exile 2.

Artificer’s Orbs in Path of Exile 2 allows you to add a socket to different types of equipment. To use it, right-click the item and left-click an armor or martial weapon that supports sockets in the game.

You can add 2 sockets for weapons, another 2 for Body Armor, and a socket each for Gloves, Boots, and Helmet. Alternatively, you can try and corrupt an item in the Altars of Corruption or use Vaal Orbs for a chance to get an extra socket in them. However, this process is random and could either make your item useless or insanely powerful. This option is not recommended unless you have spare equipment to use.

Keep in mind, that wands and staves are not compatible with Artificer’s Orb in Path of Exile 2. This means you cannot add any sockets to them.

You will need to collect a total of 10 Artificer’s Shards in order to get one full Orb. These items can be acquired through the following:

Random Enemy Drops

Similar to other items in the game, Artificer’s Shards can drop as loot from enemies or bosses. However, it may take a lot of time before you can collect enough shards for a full orb. Hence, the second option is recommended.

Salvage Equipment

Gears that you don’t need can be placed in the Salvage Bench to break them down into useful materials, including an Artificer’s Orb. This is a good alternative way to get rid of your equipment instead of just throwing it away or selling it.
