How to get Jannath’s Hat in BG3?
To get the Jannath’s Hat in BG3 you will need to reach the Counting House in the Lower City, gain entrance to the vaults, and then unlock High Security Vault n°2 in the basement.
Step 1- Bank Pass and Vault Puzzle
First, you will need a bank pass to reach the downstairs vaults inside the Counting House. Head Clerk Meadhoney can be found just to the right of the locked gates leading down to the vaults. Speak to him and you can get a pass by persuading him to give you one or paying him a lot of gold. Additionally, you can avoid Meadhoney entirely by going upstairs and stealing a bank pass from the first office on the left.
Next, show your pass to the guards in front of the iron gate. Then, head down the stairs and into another room with more guards. You will have to show your pass one more time before moving on through a large vault door.
This passageway will have a room to the north that contains normal vaults and a second room to the south that has several safes. To get Jannath’s Hat in Baldur’s Gate 3, however, you need the high security vaults. Therefore, in the room with the numbered floor plates, step on the numbers in this order: 1-3-5-6. Break off one character from the group to do this, otherwise, your companions will likely step on incorrect tiles as you move around.
Step 2- How to Unlock High Security Vault n°2
There may be a cutscene you’ll have to watch if this is your first time in the High Security Vaults room. Additionally, directly after the scene, you will have to fight several assassins. Then, you will be free to check out the high security vaults.
There are nine total high security vaults here, and n°2 can be found in the middle on the south side of the room. The best way to unlock the High Security vaults is by bringing one character (companion Astarion is very good for this) that has a high Dexterity and is proficient in Sleight of Hand.
On the other hand, if you would rather have the key to unlock High Security Vault n°2, you can get it by stealing it from Lady Jannath. You can find her at Lady Jannath’s Estate on the west side of the Lower City.
However, if you plan to lockpick the vaults, then bring along some Arrows of Darkness. Shoot an arrow in between two of the vaults so the darkness covers both. Then, use Astarion to unlock the vault and take Jannath’s Hat.
How to use Jannath’s Hat in BG3?
The best way to use the Jannath’s Hat in BG3 is by equipping it to Bard, Sorcerer, or Warlock as part of a Persuasion Build. The trait bonuses on this hat will give you an Advantage on all Persuasion and Deception checks. When you have Advantage on a roll in BG3, it means that you can roll two dice and get to take whichever result is higher. Therefore, you get a much better chance to succeed on your rolls.
However, because the boosts to Persuasion and Deception will generally only benefit you during dialogue difficulty checks, you will want to have another headgear option for combat. Keep Jannath’s Hat with you in your character’s inventory so that you can quickly access it anytime you need. Because the hat is light, it will impact your carry weight every little.
