Explore this simple article to learn how to get Sentry Armor Trim and use it to decorate your armor in Minecraft.
The Armor in Minecraft is very useful equipment for survival. However, it is normal for players to easily get bored wearing the same armor every run. This changed when Armor Trims were introduced in the Minecraft 1.20 update. Armor Trims allow you to use your favorite ore and inlay it on your armor as trimmings. Currently, there are a total of 19 types of Armor Trim available in the game, and Sentry Armor Trim is one of them.
But how do you get Sentry Armor Trim, and how do you use it? Here’s a simple guide to help you out.

Items Required for Sentry Armor Trim in Minecraft
Sentry Armor Trim is not a craftable item in Minecraft. However, you can find one and keep duplicating it by combining it with more items. You can get a Sentry Armor Trim from chests found in a Pillager Outpost. Be careful, the pillagers won’t be happy when you get near them. Make sure to prepare optimally before visiting one. The chests are inside the outpost and lie mostly in the uppermost section.
Along with the Armor Trim, here are the other materials that you need:
- 7x Diamond
- 1x Cobblestone
And here’s how you get these:
- Diamond: These are rare resources that are found deep underground, mostly between -50 to -64 y-axis. They come in the form of ore blocks, and you need to break them. We recommend using an enchanted pickaxe to break these to get as many diamonds as you can.
- Cobblestone: These are very easy to obtain, as you only need to break a stone block to get one. Just mine straight down to find one very easily.
Now that you have these, let’s craft the Sentry Armor Trims.
Crafting and Using Sentry Armor Trim in Minecraft
Follow this crafting recipe to duplicate your Sentry Armor Trim in Minecraft:
- Make a Crafting Table and place it on the ground. Interact with it.
- Place the Cobblestone block in the middle and the Sentry Armor Trim on top of it.
- Fill the rest of the spaces with Diamonds in a U shape. Refer to the image above.
- Drag the two Sentry Armor Trims in your inventory from the output section.
Follow these steps to infinitely duplicate the Sentry Armor Trim. Finally, here’s how you use them:
- Craft a Smithing Table and place it.
- Interact with the table and place items in the left section.
- You need an Armor Trim, an Armor piece, and a trimming material (any ore should do).
- The Armor Trim goes first, then the Armor piece, and lastly the trimming material.
- Drag the trimmed armor into your inventory and wear it.
