The Tressym Collar is an accessory in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3), and you can get it from Gale’s feline friend in Act 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a highly acclaimed CRPG from the renowned developer Larian Studios. Released in the summer of 2023 on all major platforms, it features an engaging storyline, memorable companions, and tactical turn-based combat. Additionally, there are many pieces of unique armour, weapons, accessories, and other items to find as you explore the world of Faerun. Some of these items require conquering difficult boss fights, solving intricate puzzles, or looting treasure chests.

Everything about Tressym Collar in Baldur’s Gate 3
In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Tressym Collar is an accessory piece that any class or companion can use to gain access to the Telekinesis spell. Telekinesis is a Level 5 transmutation spell that allows you to mentally pick up and throw other creatures or objects. The spell works within an 18-meter range, and can only be cast once per Long Rest while you are wearing this amulet.
Furthermore, heavier items will deal more damage, and an intelligent creature will have to pass a Strength saving throw to remain unaffected.

How to Get Tressym Collar in BG3
To get the Tressym Collar in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must find Tara the Tressym in Rivington, and then either kill her there or later in in the City of Baldur’s Gate on the rooftops of other locations. These include the Devil’s Fee and Highberry’s Home.
Additionally, be aware that the only way to get the Tressym Collar is by killing Tara and looting the amulet. Doing so will harm your relationship with Gale and you will possibly lose out on other items depending on when you choose to stab her.
Step 1 – Find Tara on the Roof of the Open Hand Temple
To find the first time in Baldur’s Gate 3, head north/left down the path from the Rivington waypoint. The Open Hand Temple will be the second major location on your left. Walk around the building on the north side and you will find some vines you can use to climb up to the roof. After you get up top, Tara will be there just a little to the left/east.
If you want to speak to Tara, then you will need to use the Speak With Animals spell or potion. Gale can also speak to her, if he is in your party, though you will not be able to understand Tara’s half of the conversation.
Additionally, if you speak to her and play things out correctly, you can solve the Find the Missing Letters quest and also receive the Ring of Blink.
Step 2 – Other Locations to Find Tara
If you choose to play through the dialogue and let Tara go on from the roof of the Open Hand Temple, you can find her in two more locations once you get inside the city of Baldur’s Gate. These include:
- Roof of the Devil’s Fee – Store found in the northern portion of the Lower City.
- Roof of Highberry Home – The home attached to the Win Festival, just southwest of the Elfsong Tavern.
Additionally, you can also ask to trade with Tara at both of these locations for one unique item at each. At the Devil’s Fee she will sell you the Hat of the Sharp Caster. And at Highberry Home she will sell the Slinging Shoes.
If you want to get all of these items, you must first visit with her at the Devil’s Fee, and buy the hat. Then, find her again at the top of Highberry Home and trade for the shoes. After that, you can kill her for the Tressym Collar.
How to Use the Tressym Collar in BG3?
The best way to use the Tressym Collar in BG3 is by equipping it to a spellcasting class such as Bard, Druid, Sorcerer, or Wizard. This is because it will give these more physically weak classes the ability to throw or move something they normally would not have the Strength to pick up. Moreover, there does not appear to be a limit to the weight of the object you toss. Additionally, heavier items can do more damage. Therefore, this is a great way for spellcasting classes to potentially do a lot of physical damage.
