Interacting with the world of Minecraft has various ways. You can create doors, railway tracks, and even secret passageways. However, to trigger them, you will need either a switch or a lever.

Want to know how to craft a lever, which can ultimately help you in creating many unusual and useful things? You’re at the right place. This guide will tell you everything about a lever in Minecraft in detail.

With switchable redstone power, a lever in Minecraft can come in quite handy. To craft it, you will need one cobblestone, which can easily be foraged by breaking down nearby walls, and one stick.

For a stick, you will need two planks—the wood doesn’t matter. Once you have the two planks, you can place them in your inventory’s crafting table, and you will get four sticks. Additionally, if you’re stranded, you can use two bamboos to craft a single stick.

Once you have the right items, you can now return to your base and use the crafting table. In the slots, you can sort the items as shown in the above picture. If done correctly, you will receive the lever.

How To Use a Lever in Minecraft

A lever basically acts as a switch. If you attach it near any mechanical surface and try to interact with it, the mechanism will initiate. Additionally, it can be used to open an iron door.

An iron door solidifies your safety after you use it, since it cannot be opened with a key. On either the left or right wall, you can place the lever and interact with it by pressing the right click to open the door.

The following components can be used with a level:

  • Redstone Dust (Place adjacent)
  • Redstone Repeater and Comparator (Place adjacent)
  • Adjacent mechanical components
  • Underwater mechanics
