Here is a step-by-step guide for how to create an Iron Farm in Minecraft.

Iron is one of the most commonly used items you can find in Minecraft. Since it has an average rarity of spawning, you can easily find it in the lower parts of the cave and keep some extra ingots on yourself to craft an extra set of weapons whenever your initial one breaks.
While it can sometimes be excruciating to find iron, you can make an iron farm. Using this farm, you can easily harvest hundreds of iron ingots in mere minutes. Here’s how you make an iron farm in Minecraft and how to efficiently use it.
Items Required To Make an Iron Farm in Minecraft

Since an iron farm isn’t a naturally occurring thing in the game, your creativity can prevail here. For the iron farm, you will need:
- 24 Stone Brick Walls
- 11 Trapdoors
- 3 Hoppers
- 3 Beds
- 2 Chest Boxes
- 1 Shovel
- 1 Boat
- 1 Water Bucket
- 1 Lava Bucket
Before you can place your items, you need to create enough space for the iron farm.
Making an Iron Farm in Minecraft

For the iron farm, dig a 3×2 hole, which should be at most three blocks deep. Drop down the hole and clear the 12 blocks in front of you, and in the middle of the blocks, create a staircase with the blocks. Above the blocks before the staircase, place three trapdoors and a boat. Once outside, you can close the staircase with one block and two trap doors. In the hole, you can place three beds.
Once everything is in place, you can wait for the night to fall. Using boats, you can carry three villagers and take them near the hole. Once they see the bed, they will immediately try to sleep inside. On the staircase side, lure a zombie inside that will automatically sit on the boat. Now, fill up the staircase hole. Place a 7×7 stone brick wall starting adjacent to the staircase, covering up the main hole.
In the corner, place a dirt block and throw the water bucket on top of it. This will cause the water to flow from one corner to another and break the dirt block once it’s successful. Now, in the corner with the least water, break five blocks on the surface to place two of your chests and three hoppers. On the opposite corner of the water source, use your lava bucket that will go down a hole near the chests.
Finally, make 6×6 path blocks from the main farm structure. Lastly, open the middle trapdoor that holds the villagers, and beneath the hole, open the threetrap doors that hold the zombie. This will prompt an Iron Golem to spawn repeatedly, but it will continuously flow backwards to the lava because of the water. It will repeatedly die, and your iron ingots will be saved in the two chests through the hoppers.
