Speak of The Devil is a main quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 in which Zizka will need your help freeing Dry Devil from his captivity. When you reach Devil’s Den and speak to Zizka’s friend, he will tell you that some soldiers have captured Dry Devil. Now, our main goal in this quest will be to save Dry Devil. And we will accomplish our task by launching an ambush on the soldiers who captured Dry Devil.
It is recommended to have strong armor and weapons for this mission. Because the soldiers are not vagabonds, they will be well-equipped to fight anyone who tries to stop them. So without further delay. let’s dive into the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2′ Speak of the Devil quest.
How To Complete Speak of the Devil Main Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
To begin this quest, you will need to go to Kuttenberg. Once there, find the Devil’s Den, which will be northwest of the city. Zizka will find you when you reach the location and a cutscene will be triggered. During this cutscene, both of you will find out that Zizka’s friend, Kubayenka, is fighting some men in the inn. When the men who were attacking are defeated, Kubayenka will tell you that some soldiers have kidnapped Dry Devil. This is not a surprise to anyone at all, since we all know that Dry Devil is one of the most wanted criminals in Kuttenberg.
Plan The Ambush
Now we must hatch a plan to save our companion. At that moment, Kubayenka will also tell you that he has heard that the soldiers will be moving Dry Devil to another prison soon. So Henry and the others decide to plan an ambush when the soldiers are transferring Dry Devil and free their friend.
Since there will be quite a few soldiers and they will have a significant number advantage over Henry and his two companions, Kubayenka will suggest getting some hand cannons to make the fight more favorable. Go back to his campsite and speak to Kubayenka about the hand cannons. Unfortunately, he does not remember where he buried the firearms. So now you will have to follow him through the forest and look for firearms in many different spots.
Look For The Hand Cannons
We will also have to do some digging in this part of the quest. So if you do not have a spade, find one next to the tent. Now, start following Kubayenka. You won’t find the hand cannons on the first spot naturally, but you will get some savior schnapps. On the way to the second spot, Kubayenka will ask you to fetch some booze. Reject this proposal because it is not helpful to you at all. Unfortunately, it is another swing and a miss because the hand cannons won’t be on the second sport either.
However, there will be a dead body you can loot, which will give you the following items:
- Mail Coif
- Saxon Hauberk
- Smooth Cuirass
- Firm Boots
- Cheap Wine
- 12 Groschen
- 3 Lockpicks
- Die of Misfortune
- Silver Badge of Defense
Now follow Kubayenka to the final digging spot. This spot will have a chest labeled “Carefully Wrapped Handgonnes”. Take everything from this chest and you will finally find the hand cannons in this chest, which will end the tedious following-around part of the mission. Go and meet Zizka at the ambush spot and you will see that he has hired some people to help you in your mission.
Defeat The Soldiers and Free Dry Devil
Speak to Zizka and iron out the details of your plans. Shortly after, you will see Dry Devil in a wagon and Henry with his companions preparing to launch the attack in a cutscene. After Henry and the others have fired the hand cannons, you will soon realize that the ambush did not work at all. You can speak to the captain of the soldiers and try to get yourself out of the situation if you succeed in skill checks. But if you fail, then an all-out fight will break out and you will have to defeat the enemies.
When you have defeated the soldiers, you can loot their corpses to get some potentially good loot. Now, speak to Zizka and he will give you a fast travel option back to Devil’s Den. Once you are back at the Inn, talk to Dry Devil to complete the Speak of the Devil quest. Note this action will begin the next two main quests, The Devil’s Pack and Into The Underworld as well.
