Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 features several popular supervillains and The Lizard is one of them. Here’s how to defeat him effortlessly.
As seen in the comics, Doctor Curtis Connors turns into The Lizard in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The comic-accurate version of the supervillain has a variety of move sets that players will want to learn when taking him on. With the fight comprising three phases, it makes the battle against the reptile boss one of the longest in the game.
Parrying and dodging are some of the most essential mechanics that one has to master when taking on this boss, especially in the highest difficulty setting. Let’s take a look at how to defeat The Lizard in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The Lizard Boss Fight In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Phase 1
The boss fight begins with the reptile supervillain lunging at Peter with a Crush Attack. This is a type of enemy attack that cannot be blocked or parried and must be dodged. Blocking the attack results in players taking damage.
This phase is quite simple, with the boss not using much variety in its attacks. Players can quickly clear this stage by dodging and parrying its attacks to minimize damage and utilizing the wooden doors on the ground to emit steam and inflict damage upon the reptile.
To execute this, aim toward the vent and press R1 and L1 at the same time when The Lizard is on top of it. This can be achieved by baiting the enemy to stand on the vent or run across it and timing the attack precisely. Players should use Gadgets and Abilities early in this phase to ensure they recover in time for Phase 2.
Phase 2
As this phase starts, The Lizard crawls up the wall and uses it to create distance between the two. At times, the boss will lunge at Peter with a Crush Attack. Dodge this attack or make the first move and land a hit first. Occasionally, it will throw debris from the wall at Peter, which must be dodged.
Players should look out for The Lizard’s 360-degree tail sweep move, which must be parried or dodged. While dodging works, parrying the attack creates an opportunity to land a counterattack.
Use the steam doors to your advantage when possible and defeat the boss once again to move to the next phase.
Phase 3
Chase The Lizard through the city to end up in another sewer location at the beginning of this phase. Here, it undergoes an evolution and transforms into an even bigger version of a reptile.
In the final phase of this boss fight in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, The Lizard shows off some new moves, including an unblockable roaring attack that players must evade. Since Peter dons the Symbiote Suit in this fight, he is vulnerable to high-frequency noise. The enemy figures this out and tries its best to stun Spider-Man.
Additionally, The Lizard uses a combination of heavy attacks that players must dodge or parry. Finish the fight by efficiently using all the Gadgets and Abilities, especially the Symbiote Suit’s Symbiote Surge Ability, which deals significant damage.
