The Monster Hunter Wilds Beta is live, and players get the unique opportunity to face off against the game’s flagship monster, Arkveld. Also known as the White Wraith, this furry monster has greyish-white scales and armor. This guide will provide all the necessary information that will help you pit your skills against the flagship.
Monster Hunter Wilds Beta: Unlocking Arkveld Quest

You can only tackle the Arkveld quest once you meet certain prerequisites. Here’s what you need:
- Complete the story trial for the Beta by beating Chatacabra.
- Go and have a word with Alma in your base camp and learn of a possible quest from the guild that involves the White Wraith.
- Talk to Alma again or post the quest using the Quest Board.
Following these steps will give you access to the Chained Arkveld Advanced Quest, which is a 3-star quest. Also, check out our Alma character guide to know more about her role in the game.
Chained Arkveld Quest Details
The quest provides a summary of the monster you are tasked to hunt. Arkveld is termed as “highly dangerous.” Besides the difficulty, the battle has a timer of 20 minutes, which is sure to make it even more challenging. You need to have a Hunter Rank of 1 or more to attempt this quest, and your party can have a maximum of four players.
You can fail the quest in two scenarios — either the 20-minute timer runs out before defeating the monster or you faint four times during the battle. But, if you manage to take down the legendary monster, you stand to earn 7200z and various other items. These may include the Arkveld Certificate S, Arkveld Horn+, Arkveld Scale+, Hard Armor Sphere, Arkveld Horn+, and more.
