IShowSpeed recently hosted an IRL stream in Peru. The streamer was greeted by thousands of fans outside the mayor’s mansion.
YouTube’s biggest streamer, Darren “IShowSpeed,” recently hosted an IRL (in real life) stream in Lima, Peru. During the stream, he was even invited by Lima’s mayor. In fact, he was made an honorary mayor for an hour by the city’s mayor, Rafael López Aliaga. At one point in the stream, he arched over the balcony of the mansion, overseeing thousands of fans who had gathered outside the official’s residence in Lima. Fans reacted to the post, highlighting how Speed managed to make it worldwide by riding the football (soccer) wave. One user wrote:
“Biblical levels of motion. Speed is one of the greatest geniuses of our time. The man who fully harnessed the power of football,” said @imzispoms.
Another user wrote how Speed went from being viral in Ohio to being viral in Lime, Peru:

IShowSpeed’s Mayorship Updated on Wikipedia
IShowSpeed has added another viral achievement to his already illustrious record. He can now call himself the former Mayor of Lima, the capital of Peru. The city’s mayor presented him with an official document, appointing him as the temporary mayor.
Rafael López Aliaga has been the city’s mayor since 2023. However, the streamer briefly appeared on Wikipedia’s list of Lima’s mayors. It seems that some fans took the initiative to add his name to the page, and the edit quickly caught the attention of netizens. One of Speed’s verified fan pages on X shared the moment, highlighting the unexpected addition:

IShowSpeed has some major updates on the horizon. He is currently on an IRL tour across South America but will return to the U.S. next weekend after receiving an invitation from Triple H to stream at the Royal Rumble event.
Another streamer set to be in the arena that day is Kai Cenat. Cenat, who shares a friendly rivalry with Speed, is also one of his close friends. During his recent appearance on Monday Night Raw, Cenat even called out Speed.
