Fans of Schedule 1 are eagerly awaiting the Rival Cartel update. The game has evolved into a fantastic experience for players, involving the production and distribution of questionable substances within the small town of Hyland Point. Additionally, teaming up with a friend and raising havoc is fun.

However, the game has not received much expansion in gameplay as of late. Hence, when there was a poll from the developers within the game, asking us which expansion we would like in-game, “Rival Cartel” won by a landslide.

Such was expected because the arrival of a rival will definitely bring more to the game than a new vehicle or a substance. TVGS initially mentioned the release of Rival Cartel in late July 2025. Unfortunately, the date has been postponed. However, we expect the update to roll out soon. Furthermore, we have received some sneak peeks of what is to come.

Without further ado, let us discuss what we can expect from the Rival Cartel Update in Schedule 1.

On February 4, Tyler promised a rather interactive Rival Cartel. He stated they will interrupt your sales, ambush you, and raid your properties. You can show up uninvited at cartel meetups and snatch their supplies.

One of the images shows someone in the backseat of an SUV. There is a Cuke machine in the image outside a building that looks like the Motel Office. Hence, the vehicle might be parked at the Parking Lot by Taco Tickler.

The person in the image is likely to be a Cartel boss. Moreover, the SUV looks nothing like Bruiser, the SUV you can buy in the game at Hyland Autos. Bruiser features rectangular-shaped headlights, whereas this one has round ones. So, a new vehicle could roll out in the update.

A Shotgun

Another firearm is likely coming to the game besides the two existing handguns. Shotguns in games usually feature explosive damage at a short range. With Rival Cartel members infesting Hyland Point, this might be a welcome addition to the game.

An Eerie Text

The Rival Cartel might not only mean war. Although there is a subtle hint of aggression, Rival Cartel might order huge quantities of substances from you within a given time. We will know how to react to this once the update is available.

A Transaction Interruption

As expected, Rival Cartel members will fight you if they see you dealing stuff on their turf. The image shows a Rival Cartel member brandishing a knife at you mid-deal. Since a shotgun is coming into the equation, chances are, Rival Cartel members might be armed with firearms as well. It is expected that the Police will try to subdue both you and your rivals.

No foul play from the side of the law enforcement has been hinted at by TVGS.
