Players can decide to leave him be in his search for Astarion, or even reveal Astarion if he is in your party. Players can trade with Gandrel: he sells Arrow of Fire, Arrow of Acid, Potion of Healing, and obviously, Garlic. He is part of a quest related to Astarion, and players can choose to reveal Astarion to him or not. He reappears at the Gur Camp area in the northeast of Rivington when you first arrive at Baldur’s Gate in Act Three.
