Cornelius is a Level 50 Guild Boss found on the third floor of the Syleus’ Abyss dungeon in Throne and Liberty.
Throne and Liberty has a variety of enemies with different strengths and weaknesses that put a different facet of your skillset to the test. Some test your aggression, some test your parries, some test your agility, and much more. Cornelius is a Level 50 Guild boss found on the third floor of the Syleus’ Abyss dungeon. The giant boss can be a roadblock for unassuming players and can be intimidating as he towers over you.
In this guide, we shall go over the Cornelius boss, his mechanics, and the attacks you should watch out for as you take him head-on.
Look Out for These Attacks While Facing the Cornelius Guild Boss
While Cornelius may be giant and intimidating, he often leaves himself open to be read like a book. The boss has various dialogue queues that give away the attack that comes next. Below, we have listed the attacks you need to watch out for. Keep your ears open for these dialogue queues to react accordingly.
Spin Attack
When you hear the boss yelling, “Kneel before your King,” it is your queue to brace for a spin attack. Cornelius lifts his sword and aligns it parallel to the ground before going for a wide spin. You are not safe in any proximity to this attack, even if you’re behind the boss. You can block the attack or take a few steps back to avoid it.
Projectile Attack
When you hear the boss yelling, “You will all be executed,” he is preparing to send out waves across the arena floor. The areas designated to get hit by the waves are marked red, so stay clear of the red zones.
Fury Attack
Cornelius also bears a large AOE attack in his arsenal. This attack is not preceded by any dialogue queue but instead by a visual indicator. A purple fury attack indicator will notify you of the attack, so keep track of the boss during the fight.
Marked Attacks
Cornelius routinely marks players in the vicinity Red or Blue. These marks turn a player into a ticking time bomb that can damage other players. Players marked red spawn a big red explosion that damages players around them, while players marked blue spawn five smaller explosions. If you see a player marked red or blue, immediately distance yourself from them. If you are marked, distance yourself from others so as to not sabotage the Guild’s boss assault.
