Everything you need to know about fast travel in Wuchang Fallen Feathers, how to unlock and use it, limitations, and more.

Fast travel is one of the necessary features of any traditional souls-like experience, and Wuchang Fallen Feathers is no stranger to that rule. While the game is fairly linear, it does offer optional paths for players to explore. And often, some of the optional paths can stretch on for quite a long time, featuring not only enemy ambushes on every corner, but also optional boss fights. And given the game’s open-ended exploration, it’s quite natural for players to stumble upon higher-level areas much sooner than intended.
This is where fast travel comes into play, offering an easier path to return to these optional boss fights after you’ve acquired better gear and abilities. However, similar to the original Dark Souls, understanding the fast travel in Wuchang can be a tad tricky, especially if this is your very first souls-like RPG.
Here’s everything you need to know about fast travel in Wuchang Fallen Feathers, and how to use it.
How To Unlock Fast Travel in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

Fast travel in Wuchang Fallen Feathers is available right from the very start of the game. You essentially need to make your way to the Reverent Temple. You can fast travel to any of the previously unlocked Shrines. However, it should be noted that fast travel is only possible between areas that you’ve already visited. Furthermore, you can only fast travel between Shrines that you have interacted with. If you missed activating a Shrine by performing the blood ritual, it will not show up as a fast travel option. In addition to that, fast traveling or resting at any of the Shrines will respawn all the nearby enemies.
As such, only use fast travel when you’re prepared to face the enemies in the vicinity. That said, elite enemies, mini-bosses, and major bosses do not respawn upon resetting. The fast travel locations also serve as identifiers for the game’s main story progress. Here’s how you can fast travel in Wuchang Fallen Feathers:
- Interacting with the Shrine will give you the option to Teleport.
- After selecting the Teleport option, select the desired Shrine you want to fast travel to.
Apart from respawning enemies, fast traveling also replenishes the consumables and Manna Flasks that you’ve exhausted until that point. Do note that consumables will only be replenished if you have additional resources stored in the storage.
Is Wuchang Fallen Feathers Open World?
While elements like fast travel and non-linear progression are synonymous with open-world games, Wuchang isn’t one. It’s essentially a souls-like RPG with a semi-open-world structure, akin to games like Dark Souls and Lords of the Fallen. That said, the game’s map is fully interconnected, with multiple paths that lead to the central hub area — Shu Sanctuary. If you’ve played Dark Souls, you will find many parallels to that title in Wuchang Fallen Feathers’ level design.
