Monster Hunter Wilds Alma: Character Guide

In Monster Hunter Wilds (or MHW), Alma is the Handler assigned to the Avis Unit, which includes the protagonist Hunter. She will handle monster hunt requests and necessary quests while also being a treasure trove of knowledge on tackling monsters and environments.

“The hunter’s “Handler”—one who manages monster hunt requests, permissions, and quests. She’ll accompany you out on quests and provide valuable support and knowledge. A specialist in cultural anthropology and an avid archaeologist.”

What Is Alma’s Role in Monster Hunter Wilds Story?

Being the player’s Handler, Alma will always be by the Hunter’s side in MHW, providing support and knowledge. We already met her in the October 2024 Open Beta, and the community has quickly warmed up to her design.

Furthermore, her specialization in cultural anthropology and archaeology may play out in Monster Hunter Wilds’ storyline, given the game focuses on world-building and lore expansion.

MHWilds Alma: Services and Interactions

Alma will manage the monster hunt quests and missions that the Hunter will be involved in. She will also be out in the field with the player, providing necessary information and guidance.

Where To Find Alma in MHWilds

Apart from accompanying the player on their hunts or expeditions in Monster Hunter Wilds, Alma can also be found in the region’s Base Camp and in any Pop-Up Camps.

Alma Notes & Trivia in MHW

While the Monster Hunter community was annoyed or critical of the World’s Handler, Alma has been received much more positively. One can only hope that she receives further appreciation once MHW finally launches later next month, on February 28, 2025.
