Most of the major events of the Dune saga have sprung from resources and the political schemes played over them. Resources lie at the heart of the Dune story, and Dune Awakening adapts this philosophy into its gameplay. Resources are an essential part of the Dune Awakening experience, and Carbon Ore is one such item you’ll constantly find yourself in need of.

While Carbon Ores may be no spice, they are essential for crafting Steel Ingots. Steel Ingots, in turn, help you craft valuable armor and weapons that make your survival on Arrakis easier and, more so, aid in your fight against the Harkonnen. Their importance cannot be understated, and you absolutely need as many of these as you can find.

The problem is – Arrakis is huge. Finding mineral ores on a world this massive is akin to searching for a needle in a haystack. But with a bit of guidance, we can point you towards that haystack. If you’re searching for Carbon Ore in Dune Awakening but can’t seem to find it, we’re here to help. In this guide, we shall go over where to find Carbon Ore in Dune Awakening.

You find the Carbon Ores in the Jabal Eifrit Al-Janub region of the game. Explore this area and use your Cutteray MK2 to mine the ores. If you’re playing this game on the beta, you will not be able to access this area. This area will only be available in the full release of Dune Awakening.

In such a case, we recommend sticking to chest hunting. Use your sandbike and its scanner to scan for chests buried in the sand. As you go about scanning while exploring, your scanner will pick up on an item marked by a briefcase icon

Get off your bike and use your sand compactor to shoot at the icon. This will displace the sand, revealing the chest underneath. Loot this chest, and you will find a variety of items, one of which will be the Carbon Ores. We recommend sticking to this method as it offers greater rewards and can be easily done while travelling between quests.
