In this guide, we shall go over where to find Keratin in Ark Ragnarok Ascended, a crucial crafting resource in the game.
Ark Ragnarok Ascended’s 144-square-kilometer map is beautiful, but it is also undoubtedly dangerous. If you wish to survive your stay on this island, you need to craft all the gear you possibly can, and some of the most important stuff in this game requires you to bring Keratin.
Keratin is a crafting component used for crafting items such as the Tribe Tower, Bonemeal Fertilizer, Extinguisher Grenade, and more. As important as this resource is, it is equally difficult to find. The Keratine item description states it is a firm, flexible material that “can be found in some animal horns, plates, shells, and ridges.” While the description does give you a vague idea of where to look, it is nowhere near enough considering the vast population of creatures inhabiting the new map.

Where To Find Keratin in Ark Ragnarok Ascended

While the Keratin item description may be vague, it does give us a general guideline of where to look. In order to find Keratin, you need to first find an animal corpse. The corpse in question is the corpse of the Basilosaurus. Basilosauruses are the apex predators of the ocean. Finding them in the ocean is out of the question. Thankfully, these creatures wash up dead on shore very often. If you make your way to the coast over at Latitude 23.9, Longitude 86.6, you’re likely to find a washed-up Basilosaurus here.
If you don’t find the Basilo by the water, keep walking along the shore of the Highland area. You will find the aquatic predator somewhere along the coast, guaranteed. Once you find the animal’s carcass, walk up to it and start attacking it with a pickaxe to get Keratin. The pickaxe only grants small chunks of Keratin at a time. A faster way to get Keratin is to use a Wyvern and let the creature bite the carcass. This will grant you 600 Keratin per bite and is the best way to obtain the resource.
