If you have an Otter on your shoulder, it significantly boosts your heat and cold resistance, allowing you to insulate and retain your body temperature. This severely cuts down on the risk of dying at extreme temperatures, allowing you to explore freely. The Otter is an absolute lifesaver (and is also incredibly cute).

You find Otters across water bodies on the map in Ark Ragnarok Ascended. The first area you can find them in is at latitude 61.1 and longitude 32.6. As you approach the area, you’ll find a large waterfall to your left. The Otters will be swimming in the water near the base of this waterfall.
The other area where you can find the Otters is at Latitude 69.5 and Longitude 64.9. This is a large stream that runs all the way down to the edge of the map and into the sea. You can walk along this stream, and you’re guaranteed to find Otters swimming upstream. Swim in the water, and you’ll find them.
