The Dark Displacement Gloves are a pair or rare gloves you can get from Kobold merchant Popper during Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3).

Baldur’s Gate 3 is full of powerful gear for those willing to explore its darkest corners, and the Dark Displacement Gloves are no exception. These rare gloves offer a valuable tactical advantage by boosting your survivability and enhancing your evasive abilities, making them a decent choice for stealthy or frontline characters alike. In this guide, we’ll explore the Dark Displacement Gloves, how to acquire them, and tips for using them effectively in Baldur’s Gate 3.
What are the Dark Displacement Gloves in BG3?

In Baldur’s Gate 3 the Dark Displacement Gloves are a good set of back-up gloves for Barbarians or Rogues due to their bonuses to throwing and stealing. The main perk Subtle Swap grants a +1 bonus to Attack Rolls when throwing. Moreover, these gloves also have the unique ability to swap positions between you and the target, provided the target fails a Dexterity Saving Throw. This could be a really interesting way to change positioning and strategy in combat encounters quickly!
Additionally, these gloves grant the wearer a +1 to the Sleight of Hand skill. This could provide a nice boost to a Rogue such as Astarion, who might need some extra help when cracking all of those pesky locks.

How to Get Dark Displacement Gloves in BG3? Explained
To get the Dark Displacement Gloves in Baldur’s Gate 3 you will need to visit the Circus of the Last Days in Rivington and find a Kobold merchant named Popper. You don’t technically have to buy them from him outright. The Dark Displacement Gloves can also be looted or pickpocketed from him. But look at this cute guy – would you really stab him in the gut over a pair of gloves?
When you start Act 3 you will be outside of the City of Baldur’s Gate in an area called Rivington. The Circus of the Last Days can be found here, just a little bit northwest of the Rivington waypoint. At the entrance gates you’ll be stopped by Klaus and his murderer sniffing ghoul Benjamin. You’ll have the option to try convincing him you’re safe with a 15 DC Intimidation, Deception, or Persuasion dialogue line. Or, you can just bribe him with 200 gold.

Once inside, just walk ahead, almost straight north until you come to the end of the vendors. From there, Popper can be found just a little ways to right, or northwest. He’ll have a stall out with all of his things for sale. You can buy the Dark Displacement Gloves from him for 304 gold. Or steal/loot them if you’re a little hard up on cash.
How to Use the Dark Displacement Gloves in BG3?
There are two possible options for using the Dark Displacement Gloves in BG3, both having positive effects on relevant builds. First, you could equip these gloves to a Throw Barbarian build for the boost to throw attacks. Keep in mind that throw attacks while wearing these gloves can tripper the Subtle Swap passive and your character may suddenly teleport.
Additionally, you could also equip this to a sneaky Rogue build for the boost to the Sleight of Hand skill. This will improve your ability to steal, pick locks, and disarm traps.
