How to Get Assassin's Shortsword in Baldur’s Gate 3

The Assassin’s Shortsword grants an Advantage on Stealth checks and you can find it in Act 2 of Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3).

In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Assassin’s Shortsword is an easy-to-get sword that will grant the user an Advantage on Stealth checks. Consequently, this is a decent choice for a mid-game weapon for a Rogue build, especially if your other better weapons are being used by stronger fighters. Moreover, the bonus will work so long as the character has the weapon equipped. Therefore, you can use the Stealth bonus even when you are attacking with a ranged weapon from a distance.

How to Get Assassin’s Shortsword in Baldur’s Gate 3

To get the Assassin’s Shortsword in BG3 you will need to advance the game until you reach the Shadow-Cursed Lands in Act 2, and then discover the town of Reithwin on the west side of the map. Additionally, there are several points of interest there, including the Masons Guild, the Tollhouse, the Waning Moon, and the House of Healing.

The Assassin’s Shortsword is located on a cliff ledge around the west side of the House of Healing. However, the easiest way to get there is by going around the back. First, start from the town’s central plaza, and head north through the graveyard. Make your way around to the west, where you’ll have to climb over the very back portion of the House of Healing. Additionally, this is also a good way to get onto the roof if you are looking for an alternative way inside.

Next, start to head south, keeping against the west wall. Keep your eyes open for a small ledge you can jump up on. Follow that ledge and you’ll come across two skeletons. The seated one will have the Assassin’s Shortsword for you to loot!
