In this guide, we’ll explore the Vision of the Absolute, how to acquire it, and tips for using it effectively in Baldur’s Gate 3.
What is the Vision of the Absolute in BG3?

In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Vision of the Absolute is a spear you’ll have to find the broken pieces of in order to assemble it into a working weapon. The Absolute Night perk does a couple of different things. First, you can Blind any enemy you attack, if they fail a Dexterity saving throw. Secondly, this spear also deals an additional 2-12 Piercing damage against ‘certain creatures that sport multiple sets of eyes.’
Therefore, you can use this weapon to deal extra damage to all spiders and spectators. However, keep in mind that this extra damage will not occur when you throw the weapon. It will only trigger when you cause damage directly with a melee hit.

How to Get Vision of the Absolute in BG3? Explained

To get the Vision of the Absolute in Baldur’s Gate 3 you will need to find the two broken pieces of the spear and combine them. The first piece is the Shaft of a Broken Spear and this can be collected from Edowin in the Forest west of the Druid Grove. Edowin is a True Soul you find in the Wilderness dying from the wounds of an Owlbear attack. Your tadpole will connect with his and he will ask you to protect his nearby siblings. No matter what choice you make here Edowin will die and you can loot the Shaft of a Broken Spear from his corpse.
Next, you need to find the Head of a Broken Spear, which is stuck in the body of the Owlbear mother. You can find the Owlbear Cave just to the west of where you discovered Edowin. Head across the little creek and click to enter the mouth of the cave. If this is your first time entering the nest you will find a very aggressive Owlbear mother and her cub.
You can attempt to fight and kill the Owlbear outright for the spear. However, if you want to be able to recruit the Owlbear cub later on, it’s best to leave her alone for now. Come back to the cave after a Long Rest or two and you will find the mother dead after being attacked by goblins. Now you can loot the Head of a Broken Spear from her without any trouble.
Combine the Spear Pieces

After you have both pieces, open up your Inventory and find the two spear pieces. Right-click on one and choose the ‘Combine’ option from the drop down menu. This will make a ‘Combine Items’ pop-up appear. The first piece you chose will already be there in the left slot.
Find the second piece of the spear and place it in the right slot. Then click the Combine button at the bottom. Finally, the two pieces will come together to form the Vision of the Absolute spear.
