Players must complete the Chamber of Justice puzzle to make their way to the dragon Ansur in the Wyrmway in BG3.
The Chamber of Justice is located underneath the Wyrm’s Rock Prison in Baldur’s Gate 3. It is part of a puzzle that players must solve if they want to progress and find the dragon Ansur. The Chamber of Justice happens to be one of four chambers in the Wyrmway, and players often have a tough time finding the puzzle here and solving it.
In this guide, we shall take a comprehensive look at where the puzzle is located, and how you may go about solving it.
What Is The Chamber Of Justice?
The Chamber of Justice is one of the chambers on the path to the dragon Ansur. The chamber is meant to test the player’s sense for Justice by providing a scenario of a crime and having the player decide the appropriate punishment.
Where is the Chamber of Justice Puzzle?
The Chamber of Justice is under the Wyrm’s Rock Prison in the Lower City. You will reach this location in Act 3 of the game. The Chamber of Justice is on the left of Ansur’s Gate. It holds one of the four puzzles you must solve to enter the dragon’s den.
Solving the Chamber of Justice Puzzle
When you enter the chamber, you will be greeted by a massive statue of Balduran facing the entrance. A platform engulfed in darkness lies behind the statue.
“Cleanse the world of those who would stand in the way of the righteous, but do not let such cleansing prevent justice,” the statue says. “Restore the balance of Justice.”
Surrounding the statue are shrouded paintings that depict the story of a thief who stole apples and now awaits punishment for his crime. Each of these paintings portrays a punishment, and you are to deliver justice by choosing the most appropriate one.
But first, you will need to take the shroud using the Remove Curse or Dispel Magic scrolls. Make your way to the platform and then towards the shrouded paintings. Use the scrolls to unveil the paintings’ contents.
The painting “The Cell” depicts the thief imprisoned; it is the most fair out of all the possible punishments. Pick up the painting and place it on the Empty Niche at the center to complete the puzzle. This will unlock one part of the gate leading to Ansur.
Alternative Way To Solve The Chamber Of Justice Puzzle
While interacting with the painting, instead of using Remove Curse to dispell the darkness, players can use the Banishment spell on the Judge at the center to the same effect. Players not willing to put in much thought to the punishment can also simply attack the paintings to trigger a fight. Winning the fight solves the puzzle on its own but is certainly a more brute-ish way to go about the puzzle.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a single-player turn-based RPG set in the Dungeons and Dragons universe. Developed by Larian Studios, the game released to critical acclaim and won the coveted GOTY award at The Game Awards in December 2023.
