Features of Adamantine Longsword in Baldur’s Gate 3
The Adamantine Longsword is a Rare (blue) longsword that can be wielded either one-handed or two-handed with different modifiers. The weapon also comes with a +1 weapon enchantment after being crafted. The weapon grants two effects to its user:
- Diamondsbane: The Adamantine Longsword automatically critical hits an object.
- Lethal Weapon: The weapon also ignores slashing damage resistance.
As you raise your proficiency with this longsword, you will get access to three weapon actions. The first is the Pommel Strike, a hard-hitting strike that deals non-lethal damage with a chance to daze the enemy. The second action is Lacerate. This action inflicts the Bleed status by targeting weak spots. The last action is the Rush Attack. This is a charged attack that deals high damage and can throw the enemy off-balance.
Steps to Get Adamantine Longsword in BG3
Much like every other Adamantine weapon, the Adamantine Longsword has to be crafted at the Adamantine Forge by using Mithral ores and a Longsword Mould. Acquire these two items and head to the forge to craft the Rare weapon. Take note that there are only two Mithral ores in the game, so you have very limited choice in terms of Adamantium equipment you choose to craft.

Stick to the left and go up the second set of stairs. There you will see a golden altar with a pit ahead of it. Parkour across the gaps, past the cliff till you reach a broken catwalk. Ahead of the catwalk is a hanging bridge. Jump on it to find the Longsword Mould.
Get the Mithral Ores
You can Mihtral ores from Mithral veins. There are only two such ores in the game and both can be found in the Underdark. The first Mithral Vein is southeast of the Ancient Forge waypoint in Grymforge down a flight of stairs. This path will diverge to the left towards broken stairs. Follow the path and then parkour past the gaps to reach the first Mithral Vein.
As or the second Mithral Vein, head right from the Ancient Forge waypoint and follow the path along the edge of the cliff. Parkour past the gaps and you will reach the second Mithral Vein. Use bludgeoning weapons to inflict damage on the Mithral Veins and mine the ores.
