Destiny 2 Nasreddin Sword

Destiny 2 Nasreddin God Roll

Welcome to our Destiny 2 Nasreddin God Roll Guide Guide. Nasreddin is an Adaptive Frame sword that can be obtained as a world drop can be purchased through banshee or obtained by earning faction rank-up packages. Adaptive Frame swords are not the best in PvE since they are outshined by Vortex Frame sword archetype and the Titan subclass exclusive sword. This weapon is not great in PvP because this sword does not have any increased sword lunge distance perk like eager edge and the perk that is has for lunging will get you killed in pvp this will be explained in our pvp god roll section.  Nasreddin was reintroduced in the Lightfall expansion as a reprisal from a green rarity weapon from the Red War Destiny 2’s first ever campaign.

Why You Should Get Nasreddin Sword?

You should get Nasreddin Sword incase you do not have any other sword in your inventory and or vault. Swords in general have good damage and can help deal with some enemies. The perks listed here help us gain ammo on rapid sword hits and buff our damage by stacking a damaging perk exclusive to swords.  Here’s our list of why you should get Nasreddin Sword:

  • Swords carry more ammo than all heavy weapons
  • Adaptive swords have a quicker charge rate than all other sword frames
  • Does not take an exotic slot
  • Has a decent perk pool
  • easy to obtain via world drop or banshee

Nasreddin is obtained by purchasing directly from Banshee in the Tower at random via Legendary engrams or by earning faction rank-up packages. Make sure to check this vendor regularly as many new weapons have become available.

PvE – Nasreddin God Roll

BladeHoned Edge
GuardSwordmaster’s Guard
Perk 1Relentless Strikes
Perk 2Whirlwind Blade
Origin TraitField-Tested
MasterworkImpact
ModBoss spec

Blade: For our blade we want to use Honed Edge. Honed Edge increases the swords base impact. Impact increases the swords case damage stat. We do not want to use Jagged Edge because it lowers our ammo. If we have less ammo we cannot keep swinging our sword.

Guard: Swordmaster’s Guard is the best guard for this particular archetype. This guard provides the sword with over all bonuses for blocking, block duration, and block efficiency (damage reduction while blocking).  Swordmaster’s Guard also provides charge rate which helps us get our block back and our charged heavy attack since they are both on the same cooldown.

Column 3 Perk: Our first perk is going to be Relentless Strikes. Relentless Strikes gives us ammo by landing rapid hits with the sword. If you attack an enemy with a big health pool every 3rd hit will return 1 ammo back to the sword. This helps us keep doing damage while being able to maintain a steady flow of ammo returning back to the sword.

Column 4 Perk: For our last perk we want Whirlwind Blade. This perk is by far the strongest perk for swords. Whirlwind Blade provides the sword a stacking damage bonus to give you 30% more damage once you reach max stacks. In order to achieve these stacks you need to land constant attacks on the enemy. Each attack gives you 3% more damage that last for 3.5 seconds so make sure you keep attacking with that sword.

Masterwork: Swords do not have other masterworks unless they are crafted so just max out the Impact masterwork on this weapon to get more damage.

Mod: Lastly for our mod you want to use Boss Spec. this mod adds 7.77% Damage against Bosses and Vehicles. We are using this sword mostly for bosses so lets make sure we do extra damage to them.

Conclusion: Nasreddin is in my honest opinion a simple introduction to swords. The perks it has can be good but what holds this sword back is the Adaptive Frame archetype. Vortex frame swords do more damage becuase the heavy attack from them has more hits and can do damage in an area. In general try to find a better sword if you want to do a more melee focused build for your Guardian.

PvP – Nasreddin God Roll

BladeJagged Edge
GuardSwordmaster’s Guard
Perk 1Wellspring
Perk 2En Garde
Origin TraitField-Tested
MasterworkImpact
ModQuick Access Sling

Blade: For our blade we want Jagged Edge. Jagged Edge provides us with +4 to our impact and lowers our ammo capacity. In PvP you will never have full ammo so you might as well go all out for the damage. Sword damage in PvP should kill a Guardian unless they are in a roaming super or inside a Titan Ward of Dawn. It should take at least 2 swings with the sword to kill any Guardian that is using their super.

Guard: We will be using Swordmaster’s Guard. This guard provides the sword with over all bonuses for blocking, block duration, and block efficiency (damage reduction while blocking).  Swordmaster’s Guard also provides charge rate which helps us get our block back and our charged heavy attack since they are both on the same cooldown. Please keep in mind that if your Guard gets broken you will be staggered and left wide open for an enemy to kill you.

Column 3 Perk: Our first perk we want  Wellspring.  Wellspring provides us with Energy to our grenade melee and class ability evenly split among the 3. There really is no other perk option for this spot in PvP because the time window for Relentless Strikes is very short so you will not get ammo back. Wellspring provides us with free energy to our stats so lets use that.

Column 4 Perk: Lastly we want En Garde for our final perk. En Garde provides us with 30% more damage as soon as we switch to this weapon. This damage buff should help us kill a Guardian in a roaming super so long as we heavy attack them.

Masterwork: Swords do not have other masterworks unless they are crafted so just max out the Impact masterwork on this weapon to get more damage.

Mod: We will be using Quick Access Sling so we can swap to this weapon quicker and it will help with our En Garde so we can do more damage.

Conclusion: Swords are not the best PvP weapon to use. Heavy ammo is extremely limited in that environment so you will want to use either a rocket or a machine gun to get kills in PvP. I personally recommend The Other Half or Half-Truths swords since they both can roll with Eager Edge a perk that increases the lunge distance and they are both dropped from Dares of Eternity which makes them craftable.
