Divine Messenger Quest Overview in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
The Divine Messenger is a main quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 that begins automatically after the For Victory quest. You will play Father Godwin in this quest as he comes to Trosky to look for Hans and Henry. Soon he learns about the war that took place between Ven Bergow’s army and the Bandits in the forest. As the Father makes his way to the battleground’s location at the mill, he will meet with Erik. Erik is in charge of the battleground at the mill for burying all the bodies. Upon learning that Father has come here looking for Hans Capon and Henry, he will take the Father to Zizka at the Nebakov fortress.
How to Prepare for Divine Messenger Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
There are not any preparations that you can do for the Divine Messenger quest. Because it begins automatically right after the For Victory quest and you get to play as Father Godwin. You will only get to use the items and gear that are on Father Godwin. Fortunately, the quest is quite linear and easy so it should not be very difficult to work your way through it.
How to Complete Divine Messenger Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?
The Divine Messenger follows the events from the For Victory quest and gives players the control of Father Godwin. Players have to first ask around the survivors of the battle and then head to the mill to look for Hans and Henry. Here, players will have to fight the Bandits off from the burying site to assist Erik. After that, they will go to Nebakov with Erik to meet with Captain Zizka.
Here are all the objectives that players will get to complete during the Divine Messenger quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
Talk to the people who escaped from the mill
The quest begins at the tavern where you will find Father Godwin talking to a local. Go through the initial dialogue options and the local will tell you the location of the forest leading to the mill. Before you leave the village to head towards the mill, go to the backside of the tavern to find an injured hired hand. Speak with him to learn more about the fight. After the dialogues, select the option to bless the injured NPC to gain some reputation.
Go to the site of the ambush at Nebakov mill
Now, get on the horse and leave the town to make your way towards the forest that leads to the mill. Keep on following the path on the road and follow the compass to reach the forest. As you enter the forest, a couple of bandits will stop you. Speak with the bandits and go through the dialogue options to learn that there is a larger pit ahead where there are piles of bodies buried. At the end of the conversation, you will get the choice to either fight or leave. Leave for now, as you will get to fight them later ahead but with the support of some soldiers.
Now, keep following the path ahead until you reach a barricade. Get off the horse and go up on the hill on the right side to make your way towards the mill. At the entrance of the mill, Father Godwin will speak with a guard who will then take him to Erik. Go through the conversation with Erik as well and you will see those bandits from earlier making their way to the mill.
Defeat the bandits
Draw the weapon and defeat the bandits from the earlier with the support of Erik’s men. Focus on the bandits with no shield first and then switch to the ones with the shield. It will make the fight easy for you as other soldiers will help you defeat these bandits. After defeating the bandits, speak with Erik to get going to Nebakov.
Go to Nebakov with Erik
Mount on your horse and follow Erik. After a few moments, Erik will tell you to race him to Nebakov so be ready to gallop and get to Nebakov. It does not matter even if you lose against Erik to Nebakov. Upon reaching Nebakov, a cutscene will begin where you will get to meet Captain Zizka.
Get information about the prisoners
As the cutscene ends, you will be having a conversation with Zizka. Select the following dialogue options to get information about the prisoners.
- “I may not look the part, but I am.”
- “Yes, you are.”
- “They’re handy fellows.”
- “How much do you want?”
A cutscene will begin after the conversation where rebels have started the attack on Nebakov.
Defeat the rebels and defend Nebakov
Now, attack the rebels and defeat them all to save Nebakov. Simply attack them from behind and the side to defeat the rebels easily. After defeating the rebels, speak with the Captain to learn that Erik is one of von Bergow’s spies.
Try to find out more from Istvan
After a cutscene, you will now play as Henry in a cell next to Istvan Toth, the man that Henry has been looking for a long time. During the conversation with Istvan, select the following dialogue options.
- “Now you’re done for!”
- “Don’t believe him, he’s a bandit!”
- “Where’s my sword?!”
- “Your plans failed again.”
After the conversation, a cutscene will begin in which Erik will free Istvan and leave. Moreover, Father Godwin and Zizka will come in and free both Henry and Hans.
Talk to the Captain and Godwin about the further course of the action
After getting free from the prison and during the conversation with the captain, select the following dialogue choices.
- “Jobst is on our side”
- “We had a common enemy.”
After this, you will get several questions to ask both Zizka and Godwin. Ask all the questions one by one to complete the conversation. As the conversation ends, a cutscene will begin and the Divine Messenger quest will conclude.

- Do not fight the bandits in the forest. Leave peacefully and then you can defeat them at the mill with the support of Erik’s men.
- While fighting the bandits, defeat the ones with no shield first and then engage the ones with the shield.
- During the fight with the bandits and rebels, always attack from behind and the side to defeat them in a few hits.
