Hidden blades and silent threats define the art of subtlety in Baldur’s Gate 3, and few weapons embody this more than Unseen Menace. Shrouded in mystery, both in lore and mechanics, this rare weapon is a favorite among rogues, assassins, and any adventurer who prefers to strike from the shadows. In this guide, we’ll explore the Unseen Menace, how to acquire it, and tips for using it effectively in Baldur’s Gate 3.
What is the Unseen Menace in BG3?

In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Unseen Menace is a weapon that enemies cannot see while you have it equipped. While in its Invisible state, you will have Advantage on all of your attack rolls. Moreover, you will produce a guaranteed critical hit when you roll at 19. Overall, this is a major benefit to equipping this weapon is that its Invisible state and associated perks are not dependent on stealth or your character’s ability to Hide.
However, the one downside the Unseen Menace has is that if you miss an attack, then it will lose its Invisible state for two turns. Consequently, for the next two turns you will no longer be attacking with Advantage and you have more chances to miss. If you’re really unfortunate with dice rolls, and miss more than once, then you won’t get the Invisible condition back until after combat.

How to Get Unseen Menace in BG3? Explained

To get the Unseen Menace in Baldur’s Gate 3 you must find Crèche Y’llek underneath the Rosymorn Monastery and visit with the Githyanki trader A’jak’nir Jeera. To find the Crèche you will need to first use the Mountain Pass exit to leave the main Act 1 map. We do not recommend doing this before you are a level 4 or 5 because there are some strong enemies and important story events. Additionally, if you leave the main Act 1 map before resolving the Druid Grove and Goblin Camp conflict, then you can lock out a lot of side quests.
Once you are on the Rosymorn Monastery Trail, keep heading north until you find the ruins of the monastery. Here you can begin the steps you need to complete to find The Blood of Lathander. The entrance to the Crèche will be found underneath the monastery through some broken holes in the floor. You should bring Lae’zel with you if you recruited her earlier because she will make it easier to get inside.
Once you’re inside, you can find the githyanki quartermaster A’jak’nir Jeera to the south of the Crèche Y’llek waypoint. You should prioritize going to her first and taking a look at her inventory because certain story events may eventually make her unavailable. She will have the Unseen Menace for sale and you can buy it for 342 gold.
