Starfield Best Pistol Weapons

Pistols are one of the many types of weapons available in Starfield. They are versatile weapons that can be used for both short-range and medium-range combat. Pistols typically have a high rate of fire and can be used to take down enemies quickly.

The Best Pistols in Starfield – Tier List

The Va’Ruun Starshard pistol in Starfield is the best pistol in the game. It has the highest base damage of any pistol, along with a high base accuracy and a medium range of 30 meters. It can also be fitted with various mods, further increasing its versatility and effectiveness. It is the best pistol in Starfield because it blends damage, accuracy, and customization options.

Here are the best Pistols tier list in Starfield:

Old Earth Pistol

Old Earth Pistol features in Starfield:

  • Damage: 30
  • Ammo: .45 Caliber
  • Type: Ballistic
  • Fire Rate: 66.7
  • Accuracy: 66.9%
  • Range: 20
  • Mods: 4

The Old Earth Pistol is a basic pistol that is available early in the game. It is a reliable weapon that can be used for both close-range and medium-range combat. It has a decent damage output and a high fire rate, making it a good choice for taking down weaker enemies. However, it does not have as much range or accuracy as some of the other pistols in the game.

The strength of this weapon is it’s available, which you can purchase from the Centaurian Arsenal trader in Jemison, New Atlantis.  The Old Earth Pistol can be modified to have Armor-Piercing Rounds and suppressor, but no scope or other mods that amplify its damage significantly.  Consider this a great early-game Pistol, and the XM-2311 is an upgraded version of this Pistol.

Kraken

Kraken features in Starfield:

  • Damage: 3
  • Ammo: 6.5MM
  • Type: Ballistic
  • Fire Rate: 150
  • Accuracy: 70.4%
  • Range: 20
  • Mods: 6

The Kraken pistol in Starfield is a basic pistol with a high rate of fire and good accuracy.  The weapon has 6 available mods, one of which is Gut Buster Rounds.  These rounds explode out the back into a burst of shrapnel, doing area-based damage.  The base damage is lower than other pistols but makes up for it with 150 rates of fire.

The strength of the Kraken is the rate of fire, which turns this pistol into a mini machine gun.  The downside is its lack of range at 20 meters, and other pistols can do more damage in later game.  Similar to the Old Earth Pistol, this weapon should be easy to obtain from drops or vendors and makes a unique weapon choice based on the machine gun, like 150 rate of fire. This is a great Pistol for a speech build that was a little damage when things go sideways.

Razorback

Razorback features in Starfield:

  • Damage: 56
  • Ammo: 7.5MM
  • Type: Ballistic
  • Fire Rate: 12
  • Accuracy: 67.1%
  • Range: 40
  • Mods: 8

The Razorback pistol is a powerful pistol that is suitable for long-range combat with a 40-meter base range. It has a high damage output and good accuracy, making it a good choice for playing at longer ranges.  This pistol can also be modified to include a scope, suppressor, and penetrator rounds. Razorback is on our weapon tier list as one of the best pistols in Starfield because of its unique “sniper rifle” features and is useful in range situations.

The downside of the Razorback, or 6 magazine size, is huge recoil and a slow rate of fire.  You won’t be using this pistol like the Kraken because of its range and mod choices.  Consider this a very strong-range Pistol that can be modified to play alongside a sniper build.

Urban Eagle

Urban Eagle features in Starfield:

  • Damage: 43
  • Ammo: .43 Ultramag
  • Type: Ballistic
  • Fire Rate: 25
  • Accuracy: 67.7%
  • Range: 20
  • Mods: 7

The Urban Eagle pistol is a highly customizable and versatile pistol that can be used in a variety of applications. The Urban Eagle and Razorback mirror each other in mod capabilities, with Urban Eagle having the ability to get Long Barrel, Scope, Suppressor, and Penetrator Rounds.  Where the Urban Eagle shines is a better rate of fire, lower recoil, and solid damage.

Once fully modified, the Urban Eagle will allow you to snipe at range, use a suppressor for stealth kills, and have the versatility of a great Pistol.  The downside is the damage is weak in comparison to other Pistols on this list, and the base range of 20 meters holds the Pistol back. This is a great weapon for stealth builds due to suppressor weapon modification.

Magshot

Magshot features in Starfield:

  • Damage: 64
  • Ammo: .43 MI
  • Type: Ballistic
  • Fire Rate: 25
  • Accuracy: 62.8%
  • Range: 20
  • Mods: 6

The Magshot pistol is a powerful and versatile pistol that is well worth considering for any player. It is a good choice for players who want a pistol that can deal great damage, has good accuracy, and can be customized to their specific needs.  The base damage and rate of fire are high, and the ammunition is plentily available.

With only 6 mods, this seems like a weakness, but each mod slot can be upgraded to some of the best in the game.  Magnetic Rail, Shock Charge Band, Depleted Uranium Rounds, and Fully Automatic Receiver are just some of the weapon customizations the Magshot can have.  What holds the Pistol back from being the best is lower damage, range, and 7 or 8 mod slots.  However, the Magshot is a must-have pistol for any pistol wielder especially those with ballistic weapon skills like the Soldier build.

Va’Ruun Starshard

Va’Ruun Starshard features in Starfield:

  • Damage: 26 + 80
  • Ammo: Light Fuse
  • Type: Ballistic + Laser
  • Fire Rate: 12
  • Accuracy: 70.1%
  • Range: 30
  • Mods: 7

The Va’Ruun Starshard comes in our Pistol in Starfield due to its highest base damage and uses both ballistic and laser damage.  The Va’Ruun Starshard comes with 30 meters of range, 70% accuracy, and 7 available mods making it one of the best well-rounded weapons.  The only downside of this pistol is its slot rate of fire, which can be changed via the Burst Fire receiver modification.

The strength of the Va’Ruun Starshard particle beam pistol is its magazine size of 20, along with the Annihilator Round magazine and battery mod.  Combine this damage with amplified, and Burst Fire receive, and you will have the highest damage-producing pistol in Starfield.  This later-game pistol will start showing up around level 30 and beyond and is your number one priority once you reach those levels.

That summarizes our weapon tier list in Starfield, and these pistols are the best choices for any Starfield adventurer, giving you a solid option for a variety of builds, especially the Bounty Hunter. Remember that every Starfield weapon has a distinct purpose, and selecting the ideal gun for each situation is essential for great damage and a higher-difficulty playthrough.
