If you do not like melee fights and are looking to improve your ranged combat skills then the Teppo in Assassin’s Creed Shadows emerges as weapon of choice. In addition to that, Ubisoft has given Yasuke a dedicated skill tree for the Teppo. You can unlock various abilities and upgrade them in the said skill tree to become the most feared marksman in all of Feudal Japan.

However, the sheer number of abilities available could complicate things for you. So, because of that, we have provided our top five picks from Yasuke’s Teppo Skill Tree Upgrades in this article.

Yasuke’s Best 5 Teppo Skill Tree Upgrades in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Unlike Naoe, Yasuke has two ranged weapons he can use in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The Teppo is one of them and similar to the other weapons, has its own skill tree. If you have read about the other weapon trees then you would know that the Teppo Skill Tree has six different ranks, each holding various numerous abilities. You will be able to unlock these skills with Mastery Points. However, while doing so, you must be smart with your investments to create the best build possible. We have given the best 5 Teppo Skill Tree upgrades according to use blow. So, take a look and see if you find any of them interesting.

5. Teppo Tempo

This ability is more of a counterattack. With Teppo Tempo, you can press RT/R2 after a successful dodge to shoot back at your attacker right away. It is a great way to break your opponent’s rhythm with a quick attack to find the breathing room in a battle. Teppo Tempo will be available in Rank 1 in Yasuke’s Teppo Skill Tree. And since it has no prior branches, you can unlock it quite easily.

4. Larger Pouch I

Increase ammo capacity

The next skill upgrade on our list is a simple one. The first problem players encounter with a ranged weapon is the shortage of ammo. Larger Pouch I mends that problem to a certain degree by adding additional bullet capacity to your arsenal and creating the space for +4 Ammo and +2 Special Ammo. However, if you are not content with that, you can increase the carrying capacity even further by unlocking Larger Pouch II and III as your next Teppo Skill Tree upgrades.

3. Steady Hand

An important ability for any marksman

If you are a sniper at heart then Steady Hand will quickly become the most useful ability to you. You will be able to zoom in further while aiming and deal 10% more damage after unlocking this passive skill. It is available as a Teppo Skill Tree Upgrade in the first rank itself. Additionally, you can improve this ability even more by unlocking Concentration in Rank 2 and Locked In in Rank 3.

2. Explosive Surprise

Throw some gunpower at your enemy's face

Explosive Surprise is one of the more unique skills in this guide. When you use this ability, Yasuke will throw a small pouch of gunpowder at the enemy and automatically shoot it, which will cause an explosion that will deal 35% ability damage to your enemies. Additionally, this Skill Tree Upgrade does not have period branches. However, Explosive Barrage in Rank 4 and Explosive Warfare in Rank 6 can enhance Explosive Surprise significantly.

1. Armor Buster

Armor Buster can be quite helpful against enemies with heavy gear. This ability will allow you to perform a follow-up shot after reloading the Teppo which will do 100% ability damage and also break the enemy’s armor. Additionally, it is an active ability, so you will have to assign it to one of the slots. Lastly, Armor Buster will be available in Rank 1 and Radial Effect and Deep Impact are its two possible upgrades.
