Explore this guide to find out how you can beat the Sword Hunter and find his location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Yasuke and Naoe can hunt down many people on the target boards. The Corrupt Daiken is one such group, comprised of six people scattered around the Omi region. To unlock The Corrupt Daiken target board, you must complete a series of quests related to The Mourner of the Shinbakufu. By doing so, you can unlock the Sword Hunter as a target in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
You must first complete the quest “The Price of Rice” and then talk to Kuma to receive the targets in The Corrupt Daiken. The Sword Hunter is one of the six members of The Corrupt Daiken. You can uncover his identity even before obtaining him as a target by simply completing side content around the Omi region. In case you didn’t discover his real identity, the Sword Hunter goes by the name Gamo Morinari.
This guide explains the location of the Sword Hunter and how to defeat him in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

How To Beat the Sword Hunter in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

The Sword Hunter is in an open compound, accompanied by many of his soldiers. You can choose either Naoe or Yasuke for this, as both have their advantages. Yasuke is capable of fighting multiple soldiers with ease, while Naoe can assassinate the Sword Hunter from the roof of the building behind him.
We recommend using Naoe, as the Sword Hunter has three health chunks, making him an ideal assassination target. Perch on the roof behind him and jump down to assassinate him. If you fail to do so, you must take him down quickly before his soldiers overwhelm you.
The Sword Hunter uses a katana and is properly armored. His attack pattern consists of many sword slashes, most of which are deflectable. However, some attacks flash red and are unstoppable. These unstoppable attacks have a higher charge-up time, giving you a second to dodge them. Avoid his soldiers and stay on the offensive to quickly defeat him.
Here are all the rewards you obtain from defeating the Sword Master in Assassin’s Creed Shadows:
- Your Request is Denied (Quest Item)
- Widower’s Solace (Rare Katana)
- Critical Chance on Multiple Enemies (Engraving)
- 2 Mastery Points
- 2000 EXP
- 300 Mon
